Got around to the first episode at last, I’m looking forward to seeing how their character development goes

Really enjoyed that episode. The chemistry between Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan is really shining.

The wife really enjoyed Wandavision but wasn't that fussed on the first episode of this so tonight is make or break for whether she watches the rest with me or abandons it and I have to watch it on my own! :lol:

Are MCU fans allowed to stop watching its output? I missed one movie (Age of Ultron) and had no idea what was happening in Civil War. Since then I only watch the quasi-standalone stuff.

That's another solid episode and next week looks to be excellent. Really liking this, they've definitely hit that Winter Soldier vibe, particularly in stuff like the palette. It's got just the right level of grit.

I'm really enjoying this, Mackie and Stan work well together and it's just the right amount of action and character bits.

The new Captain America is a dick. :lol:

He looks like Harry Kane and it's annoying me so much - I'm expecting him to defeat an enemy by backing into them while they jump for a header.

So has the new captain america been given the super soldier serum or something? The idea that a random soldier can just use the shield like Steve did is a bit far fetched otherwise

My hypothesis which is probably wrong: he's a mutant but doesn't necessarily know it (I'm not following any spoilers for new character introductions and don't want to know). I was also surprised that he was rocking the shield the way he did. There is a blue vial in the credits so obviously the serum isn't going away in this story, but whether Craptain America has had it is up for debate.

I'm getting real Dr. Faustus vibes from the psychiatrist dealing with Bucky. I know there was a version in Agents of Shield but I feel like they're sacking off the canon from that show.

Enjoyed that a lot more than the opening episode.

Whether it's intentional or not I got a strong feeling of Homelander from The Boys during the public interview with Nu Captain America. Naturally The Boys is a pastiche of traditional superhero stories so there's going to be some similarity with a replacement Captain America being foisted on the public and whether there's some skeletons in the closet.
