Yeah I got the exact same feeling. The whole government show for the public felt very The Boys.

I wouldn't be surprised if new Captain America gets himself killed by The Flag Smashers. I thought it was going to happen when he was alone on the truck.

I expected this as well but now they appear to be developing his character not so sure. Added into the fact that he's a comic book character who actually took up the mantel of cap I think he may stay around in some capacity.

Yeah enjoyed that more than the first episode. There were some weird handbrake turns from sombre moment into jokey banter quips between Bucky and Sam but once it settled into the more natural back and forth it was enjoyable. Also like that they’ve not messed around keeping the two sides apart as the interactions are pretty fun.

Indeed, it also such a film quality show. Feels a lot like the earlier marvel films.

I don't know much about the comics and source material but it feels like Karli Morgenthau is kind of a stand-in for Greta Thunberg (and the same actor played Enfys Nest in Rogue One, who seemed to be doing similar things) and I absolutely do not hate the Flag Smashers' anti-nation, pro-unified humanity agenda.

The Black Death upended European society and enabled a restructuring that enabled the renaissance, enlightenment and everything that followed. Clearly the Blip was having a similar effect and there are people who hate that powerful nationalistic forces are trying to force societal development backward.

I can empathise with them, definitely. It's like how today we all want to continue to work from home but the government and corporations want us to go back to commuting into busy towns :lol:
