This was the first ever Video Game I played as far as I can remember. I was born in 1981 and this came out in 1984 on the spectrum. Im sure if I tried it now it would be utter rubbish but I am very very thankful for my folks buying me this and sitting me in front of it as it was the start of my whole video game journey. How did everyone else start?

I'm almost 99.9% sure this was my first game ever on my Dad's Amiga CD 32.

99% sure it was Graham Gooch's Test Cricket on the Amstrad. As a 5 year old it was nigh unplayable, but play I tried.

The first videogame system I played on was the Binatone TV Master Mk 4 console; a device that contained three built-in "Pong" type games (Football, Tennis and Squash). My family got the device when purchasing a new TV; I think it was around 1979. It was very basic but the games played pretty well.

The first videogame system with "changeable" games that I played on was the Atari VCS (later known as the Atari 2600). An older friend got the system for his his birthday in 1981 and the first game I played on it was Combat. Subsequently I played Space Invaders, Adventure and Pac-Man when visiting my pal; great times  .

Sonic at a cousins very briefly, or some system we had as kids I don't know the name off and only remember seeing 2 or 3 times. Then a bunch blur into one with a weird educational game called Gadget Boy (I think), Transport Tycoon, Street Fighter 2

Time for adventure

Sega's arcade conversions were - considering the technical limitations of the console - very good on the Master System. Out Run and Space Harrier really pushed it and they played pretty well!

Super Mario World. When I was about 5 my older sister got a SNES with SMW and Super Tennis one Christmas or birthday. Ultimately she ended up deciding games weren't her thing and it became mine.

I remember at first I used to just replay the few levels on the opening island as I would get upset at dying on the harder ones.

This was my first video game experience too, same model and everything (that glorious orange casing!). But it wasn’t mine - it belonged to my cousins.

The first game I properly played was Hang On on the Sega Master System which came built in to the console.

Also built in was Safari Hunt

Can't remember which was the first game, but I do remember our first console which was the TV Boy. The one game I vaguely remember playing on it was a platformer and the guy you control was in pyjamas.

Thro' the Wall for the ZX Spectrum, probably 1989 or something with my dad. It was a very simple Breakout clone.

The first games I remember playing on the SNES were Super Mario All-Stars, A Link to the Past, and International Superstar Soccer. Around the same time I also had a Game Boy with Pokemon Blue and Mario & Yoshi.

I had this on C64. It came with a card cutout to overlay the function keys on the right hand side of the computer telling you which button moved your character which direction. Loved Mr Greedy’s Ice Cream hunt.

First I remember was one of the Grandstand integrated game pong machines with a zapper.
