S01E08 -

Very good episode, dropping some minor and major bombs. Nice fight and interaction between the various characters. Forgot that Oliver's baby mama was in Central City. Amell overload with the "shock" return of Caitlin's dead fiancé.

12 mins in and this is the greatest episode of anything I've ever watched.

About 14:50 in it really sounds like Wells said Batman. I know the line was probably "that man" but I like the idea that as with that Man of Steel reference the other week Wells is dropping superhero names into conversation for his own amusement.

oh man what a fantastic episode:

The emotional spectrum introduced  That plus the Ferris Air easter egg earlier on, surely they're not gona?

Finally Eddie gets a purpose! Gota be Reverse Flash now. Either him or a future ancestor?

Great episode though. Diggle

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be in my bunk :shifty:

Diggle- Oliver did I ever mention my middle name is Stewart?

They should totally do this.

That was fantastic, best episode yet.

Was sure Wells mentioned
Batman
but watching back it just sounded like it.

I suspect the epilogue will be the reveal of Reverse Flash's identity. Wells or Thawne place your bets now. I still say the actual guy in the suit is Thawne.

Unknown actor to play a Villain later in the season -

Image

"The Flash" is staging another homage to the '90s "Flash" series, bringing back Mark Hamill to reprise his role as James Jesse, aka Flash villain the Trickster.

The Trickster was the most memorable villain from the short-lived CBS "Flash" series, with Hamill taking the role so far in a Joker direction that he was unsurprisingly cast to voice the actual Joker through years of Batman and Justice League cartoons and video games.

The CW "Flash" already cast the CBS show's star, John Wesley Shipp, as father to Grant Gustin's Barry, but with Hamill — who will appear in the season's 17th episode, sometime in 2015 — the new show gets to have it both ways. Hamill will again play James Jesse, but with the twist of a new Trickster (presumably based on the one Geoff Johns introduced during his original run in "The Flash" comic) out there for Barry to stop. Per the character description:

"Mark Hamill returns in a brand new interpretation of James Jesse (aka The Trickster), a role he originated on the 90's 'Flash' series. In this new iteration, The Trickster is an anarchist terrorist con man serving a life sentence in Iron Heights who helps Barry (Grant Gustin) and Det. West (Jesse L. Martin) to foil the city-wide attacks of a wannabe Trickster eagerly following in the original's deadly footsteps. The episode will reunite him with John Wesley Shipp who went up against him as the original 'Flash' on the CBS version."

"Flash" executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said, "Having Mark reprise his role as The Trickster was on our original wish list when we were planning our version of The Flash. Christmas and Chanukah came early for us this year when he said yes! We are beyond humbled and excited to have him joining us for another round of deadly trickery!"

(This will also give "Star Wars" fandom a glimpse of what kind of shape Hamill's been in of late for the filming of "The Force Awakens.")

Well that was certainly a thing.

Good mix of moving things on, teasing bits of the mystery without resolving things and some heavier emotional scenes.

Flash vs R-Flash fights while brief were kinetic and felty suitably hefty.

1x09- :datass:

- Every single character in the show knew Barry liked Iris before Iris did. Top tier journalist there.
-So Wells is probably Eddie's descendent from the future then.
-Costume ring!
- Not enough Reverse Flash/Flash fight scenes for me but I loved every scene Reverse Flash was in. He's appropriately scary.
- Hopefully Firestorms's powers haven't been nerfed down to just fire and flight. He's not the Human Torch.
-Barry/Wells time-travel fight scene at the end of the season.

Spoilers for the Flash Rebirth comic
- Barry/Wells will probably be the lightning which gave Barry his powers too.

First half of this season has exceeded expectations and I look forward to January.

Excellent episode. A nice mix of chats and action plus a few reveals for the characters and viewers.

An impressive debut half-season. Show returns on 20th Jan in the US.

Good episode. SHIELD slightly edged it for me, but I think Arrow will totally eclipse both :datass:

So finally Wells confirmed as Eobard Thawne, well ok Reverse Flash, but given the way he left Eddie it's a sign he's his descendant. Think the end of the season might get a bit wibbly wobbly timey wimey

I think we might get a bait and switch and the speedster trying to save Barry's Mum might be either Bart or Wally.

Predictably the show is taking most of it's influence from Flash Rebirth.

Firestorm was a bit pants/deus ex machina :dread:

Spoilers for the episode (and deductions that might spoil future episodes!)

Someone defuzzed ReverseFlash's voice;

https://soundcloud.com/necros1s/harriso ... erse-flash

If you compare shots from the end, his wounds noticable heal over it - so he has quick healing, like Barry...which would also explain why he's pretending to be a Wheelchair...he was injured, but can't demonstrate he's healed up without raising questions

Since time travel is now a key factor - we've also now been told why he might want to be able to go back...to save his wife

Anung  It takes about half a season for Arrow to get good and season 2 is a definite improvement on season 1. Season 3 of Arrow has suffered somewhat in comparison to Flash so far. It's like the Arrow showrunners went from the high of season 2 and took all their creative mojo over to Flash leaving season 3 with a B team.
