You know how Arrow is basically a Batman show under a different name and suit? Well this is spider-man

It's so cheesy already, some actual quotes:

"GUESS I WASN'T FAST ENOUGH"
"RUN BARRY RUN" *repeated as dramatic inspirational line later in the episode*
"THE FUTURE WILL BE HERE FASTER THAN YOU THINK"
"DO YOU WANNA FIND OUT THE HARD WAY YOU'RE NOT FASTER THAN A BULLET"

The head of Star Labs is like a budget Jeff Goldblum

EDIT:

Also was there a script leak before or something because although this pilot just leaked I remember reading about most of the details of it months ago including the very final scene and the grodd namedrop.

Finally there's this
Image

Bottom left: is that the first time anything related to Batman himself has been namedropped by the CW shows?

1x01- I actually really liked that pilot, some goofiness aside. It was a more assured start than I remember Arrow's pilot being.

Dat Grodd cage. :datass:

The writing in the Arrow scene was awful though, what were they thinking there? Cool!

Learning from Arrow and giving Flash a support team from the beginning is probably a good move even if none of them are as likeable as Felicity so far.

Crisis on Infinite Earths?

Flash needs a brighter costume though.

I'm pretty sure Gotham and maybe Bludhaven have been namedropped in Arrow but that's the first reference by name to the Wayne family in the Arrowverse.

Good start and a mostly promising episode. Might be a world record early entry into the friend zone. Flash was as expected good, supporting cast was ok but not a fan yet of the tech girl. Wasn't particularly keen on the Villain of the week. Nice ending.

Felicity should become the Arrowverse's Oracle so she can co-ordinate on this show too.

Well that was quite good - suffered from the same problems as a lot of pilots, but was still a nice ride. Set up itself and it's arc/thread (some of which only those that read comics will spot) nicely, and given the quality of Arrow - defo continuing to watch.

Only the 2 StarLab nerds (especially the bloke) seem to grate massively.

Green Arrow's real-life cousin is playing Firestorm.

Now give me Booster Gold and Ted Kord.

Another DC character confirmed:

'The Flash' Stages 'Prison Break' Reunion (Exclusive)

Dominic Purcell reunites with Wentworth Miller on The CW comic-book drama

A Prison Break reunion is coming to TV — on The Flash, that is.

Dominic Purcell has boarded The CW comic-book drama as a DC Comics villain, reuniting with his Prison Break co-star Wentworth Miller in the 10th episode, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. This marks the first time Purcell and Miller, who played brothers Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield, will have appeared together since Prison Break ended in 2009.

Purcell will play Mick Rory, a pyromaniac who finds an outlet for his obsession with fire when he teams up with Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Miller) and becomes the villain known as Heatwave. Miller was cast in The Flash back in July and makes his debut in episode four. Purcell's character will also be heard from in that same episode.

CW’s “The Flash” has brought back Amanda Pays to play Dr. Tina McGee, the role she played in the original live-action version of the superhero drama.

I like this casting quite a bit actually. Good to see so many other DC characters join the show so soon.

With the CW‘s two freshman series, The Flash and Jane the Virgin, garnering some of the best reviews for new series this fall, the network is already looking forward to the second part of the season, ordering three additional scripts from each of the two shows. The vote of confidence comes two weeks before the Oct. 7 debut of The Flash and three weeks ahead of the series premiere of Jane the Virgin, whose star Gina Rodriguez is touted to be one of this season’s breakouts.

Giving any type of order to new broadcast series several weeks before their debut is unusual and comes after both The Flash and Jane had delivered a couple of more episodes, with the CW executives said to be very pleased with that they have seen.

The CW brass like having the network’s new fall series prepared for a possible back order with pickups of additional scripts early on. Last year, all three freshmen, The Originals, The Tomorrow People and Reign, received orders for three additional scripts in October, after two airings of The Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals, one of The Tomorrow People and a week ahead of Reign‘s premiere, which had been pushed by a week. All three series went on to score full-season pickups, with two, The Originals and Reign, also making it to Season 2.
