This has just got a full season order.

The CW has announced that it has given a full season pickup to "The Flash" a mere two episodes into its debut season, bumping its total episodes to 22.

"We have had a fantastic start to our season this year, with 'The Flash' launching as our most-watched series premiere ever, and 'Jane the Virgin' recognized as the best new show this season by critics across the country," said CW President Mark Pedowitz via press release. "Over the past three seasons, we have made it our mission to grow and to broaden out our audience, and to keep raising the bar with the quality and impact of our new shows, and 'The Flash' and 'Jane' have both exceeded our expectations on all counts. I'm thrilled to announce full season orders for both of these terrific new series."

No surprise there.

Barry running off whilst Iris is on the phone and getting back before her call finishes  A really simple gag but it's effective after watching Ollie abandon every conversation in Arrow

Mist looked like a big stinky fart

While I'm still enjoying the show hopefully they go into the main arc more soon instead of more freak of the weeks.

Next week: Felicity and Captain Cold. :datass:

Can't see if that's Dr Wells or Detective Thawne.

Question about the pilot: does the detective, Iris' boyfriend, do something suspicious in it I vaguely remember something happening but it's been like 6 months since I saw the pilot

I can't remember him doing anything at all in any episode so far.

Wonder how they'll work in kid Flash or Impulse. If they do.

Obviously it'd be way further down the line.

Decent episode but agree it does need to expand beyond monsters of the week but I guess this week was taken up by welcome flash backs. I wonder how long it'll take for them to find out their boss is evil, I assume this season.

Watched all 3 episodes (3rd one with French subtitles) and it seems pretty watchable if a little bit 'monster of the week' at the moment.

Jesus Christ. How do they do some of the effects in this show on a TV show budget

Casting news -

The Flash casts its Linda Park

As The Flash is obligated by writers room dictates to have its geeky hero pine after his best friend for at least a season, The Hollywood Reporter announces that The CW is introducing another love interest for the title character, perhaps to celebrate the show’s full-season pickup. Malese Jow will join the cast in a recurring role as Linda Park, reporter for Central City Picture News and mainstay of the DC Comics source material.

Jow’s journalist character is described as “quick-witted” (we get it, The Flash, jeez), someone who befriends Barry’s current object of unrequited love, Iris, and helps her “navigate the fast-paced world of journalism.” Barry and Linda will apparently meet in a bar and hit it off, though it’s unknown at present how long the show is planning to keep her around.

Jow, part of the CW’s starting-team roster, is coming off recent stints on both The Vampire Diaries and last season’s fleeting Star-Crossed. And with Linda Park’s arrival, the show’s bench of soon-to-debut characters from the comics gets even deeper: Upcoming DC notables include Robbie Amell’s Firestorm, Kelly Frye’s Plastique, Clancy Brown’s The General, and Robert Knepper’s The Clock King. Prison Break fans have a double dose of guest casting good news, with Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell both signed up (to appear as Captain Cold and Heat Wave, respectively). Jow will make her first appearance in episode 12.

1x04- Best episode of the season so far.
-Who doesn't know what Han Solo's ship is called? Thawne is definitely from the future.
-Having seen a lot of terrible ice CGI in Once Upon a Time recently I was impressed with this ep.
-Felicity was better in this ep than she's been in season 3 of Arrow so far.
-I like Wentworth Miller as Cold, some good casting there though I don't like how readily he'll kill someone.
-TV hacking. Felicity presses a few buttons and finds Cold instantly.

Like others have said it was easily the best episode yet. A nice blend of action, humour, plot development, good villain and Felicity.

Wentworth Miller is clearly relishing all his cheesy lines
Felicity was good again here, unlike in Arrow where I'm kinda of sick of her because her role in the show consists of pandering to fans and relationship bollocks

I think his final comment about "taking this more seriously" or whatever was supposed to indicate that he's going to become the professional Cold of the comics

Watching this on Sky so only seen the first episode so far, but really enjoyed it.
I'm hoping that this is going to be a little bit more light hearted and 'fun' than Arrow. Don't get me wrong, Arrow is great, but I'd like Flash to avoid being dark and broody all the time, otherwise it's just going to be a carbon copy.

Also loved the [is]newspaper at the end of the episode. Not sure if the 'Missing in Crisis' line is a reference to some kind of Infinite Crisis type event, or just a general crisis that was going on at the time. Also loved the reference to Wayne-Tech as well.[/is]

The red skies hint to Crisis on Infinite Earths where Barry Allen died.
