Football pundits Andy Gray and Richard Keys have won a Sony Radio Academy Award, less than 18 months after leaving Sky Sports amid a sexism row.

The pair won best sports programme for their new Talksport show.

Sky were suggesting this morning that Roberto Martinez has been suggested as a replacement for Dalgleish.

It is funny the way the press reacts to things like Sunday. Suddenly there are articles springing up everywhere saying how United need major surgery. We just finished the campaign with 89 points, 9 more than when we won the title last year and a total we have only beaten in the Premier league twice (getting 90 points in 2008-9 and 91 in 1999-2000). What United need this summer is what we have needed every summer for about the last 5 years, 2 decent CMs.

Oh and Tevez :fp: . City apologising  .

And The Guardian is saying that he's top of Villa's wishlist.

Only in the world of football 'news' could you have contradictory stories about the same person. Most of it's made up bollocks. Best to ignore it all and wait till things are confirmed.

I read that yesterday. There's a regular train service between Wigan North Western and Lime Street which could swing it I reckon.

It's not really contradictory though, is it? It's quite possible for two clubs to want the same man. I heard the Martinez rumour on saturday, but speaking to Liverpool fans at the game on sunday, not a single one of them wanted Dalglish out.

The FA really need to call Tevez up for some kind of disciplinary. That is exactly the sort of stuff they have been trying to eradicate from Football over the last 20-30 years.

He's guided Liverpool to their lowest ever Premier League points total, fewest wins in the top division since 1953/54 and fewest goals since 1991/92.

Long live King Kenny

He couldn't do a worse job than Dalglish. Wigan play some lovely football, I'd be happy if someone could get Liverpool playing that way.

We were playing good football for the majority of times. The only problem is that we lacked a killer striker and some wingers.

For instance were a ton of stories last season just after Fenway took over at Liverpool saying they could sack Hodgson in the first 30 days after taking over and they wouldn't have to compensate him. Why on earth would Hodgson agree to something like that when he knew the club would be sold inside his first season?
Why would Mcleish agree to that 40 point clause when the club finished on 48 points the season before and two members of Villas starting eleven in Young and Downing would be sold and he would only get a fraction of that cash to spend?

Both parties would have negotiated Mcleish's contract based on what they wanted. Mcleish would have agreed to terms that weren't entirely in line with what he wanted at the expense of getting other terms he did want.

I can imagine Villa forcing that clause in and Mcleish accepting it-I imagine he backed himself.

It also explains why they waited until the end of the season to sack him.

If this isnt down to Kenny then who? Bearing in mind what he said after the sacking of Comolli with regards his own input into transfers?

 He didn't know they were going to flop as hard as that though. No one could predict Downing would end up with nothing :shifty: and Andy took a while to get going.

Regardless, he still oversaw the worst transfer of the season and possibly the clubs history. I love the beligerent old fool btw, but it's time for him to step aside.

This grudge against The Guardian you have is becoming more and more nonsensical.
