But their squad has been mismanaged for years. Their endless loan policy doesn’t work because when the players return they don’t even play. Including Pullisic they spent over £400m in the last few years, yes they recouped about £200m of it.

They could have had a great team. Man Utd got a lot of stick for letting Pogba go originally. But Chelsea let Lukaku, De Bruyne and Salah go. Mourinho could be blamed. But Chelsea could have easily overruled him as it’s not like they usually give total control of transfers to managers.

It’s going to be a tough time for them to return to the top. Depends if Roman is interested. If he was, Sarri would have been gone after the match yesterday.

This isn’t like where they had Cech, Terry, Lampard, Drogba, Carvalho, Essien and Cole where they had a great spine of winners. Their title winning squad from 16/17 is broken up. Courtois, Costa, Matic and Fabregas gone. Moses is out on loan. Cahill doesn’t play. Luiz is useless. Pedro is just average. Hazard looks like he wants out. Kante doesn’t know what he’s doing.

They are capable on their day of turning up especially when Hazard is inform.

Nobody mentions this but they signed Drinkwater for £35m. Where the hell is he?

Chelsea were probably right to Let Luckaku go. The slightly annoying thing about Salah was that Liverpool were gazumped at the final hurdle when chelsea initially got him. We had agreed a 10m fee for him and Chelsea came in at last minute and paid 12m. now, he may not have played well for us either but it was annoying to see Chelsea barely play the guy at all when he was gonna be guaranteed a first team place for us. Anyway, it all worked out in the end and we got him for £35m which was a steal.

As for Kante, he's played out of position and that's on Sarri, I'd take Kante in a heartbeat but I'd play him as DM, where he's playing now has put him, behind the likes of Fernandinho, Wijnaldum, Fabinho and Herrera in that DM role.

I think every club in the country would take Kante as DM. Not sure why Sarri just doesn’t play him there. He just looks lost going forward. Jorginho doesn’t do enough and needs dropping. Just have a midfield three of Kante with Kovacic and Loftus Cheek ahead of him. Christensen should start ahead of Luiz.

Any new manager coming in would make the above changes and they’d look better. Even if they put Zola in charge for the rest of the season he’d probably make those changes, I’m sure he’s probably confused as to why Sarri isn’t playing Kante as a DM.

I'm gonna have to disagree with most of that.

Kante won the league twice playing as a central midfielder and I think putting him in a holding role neuters his best attributes in pressing intelligently and winning the ball back. I think Jorginho's a very good player who like Hazard is being somewhat hamstrung by the lack of quality in front of him. In a defensive sense his stats are pretty similar to Fernandinho, which would explain Guardiola's interest in him previously. I strongly disagree with the idea Luiz should be dropped for Christensen. From what I saw yesterday nobody in a Chelsea shirt covered themselves in glory defensively, but a few games back Chelsea's defence had conceded nearly as few goals as Man City. Given how City can absolutely blow teams away I'm inclined to just wait and see if this defensive trend continues rather than make a snap judgement.

Except on Marcus Alonso, who is absolutely stealing a living. Obviously.

Eighty six per cent of football fans who regularly attend matches in the UK have witnessed a racist incident at a game, a Sky Data Poll for Sky Sports News has revealed.

More than 1,000 football fans took part in the survey and it found that 93 per cent of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) supporters have seen racism at UK football matches.

It also revealed one in three fans (33 per cent) have had racist abuse directed at them personally with that figure rising to 71 per cent when polling fans of BAME backgrounds.

Of those surveyed only 29 per cent said they had reported a racist incident that they had witnessed and of those who did report an issue, 74 per cent were not sure if anything was done about their complaint.

The Sports Minister Mims Davies MP told Sky Sports News: "I'm disappointed by the findings, but I'm not surprised.

"I feel at the moment the opportunity remains there for people to use football as a cloak for their discrimination, for their intolerance.

"It sounds to me through that data that people are not enjoying the experience of being in football so it’s time to say it’s out of order."

Davies hopes a summit between all of the game’s stakeholders can happen later this month to discuss the issue of racism.

The study also showed one third of fans (31 per cent) did not report an incident because they do not think authorities will take action while 29 per cent did not know how to report it.

Of the 93 per cent of BAME fans surveyed who said they had witnessed racism at a game, one in four have experienced abuse in the stands on a regular basis.

Eighteen per cent of those BAME fans have suffered frequent racist attacks directed at them.

So, where does the data suggest these incidents are most prominent?

The capital appears to be the worst-hit, according to our survey, with 17 per cent of fans in London experiencing racism at every match they attend.

One in 10 fans from the midlands experienced abuse at every game, with eight per cent in Scotland, five per cent in the south of England and two per cent in the north of England.

However, our survey suggests that a lot of these incidents are going unreported - with many feeling nothing would be done about their complaints.
