Unless PSG implode at home I can't see us getting through now. Just didn't play with any real tempo and PSG do derserve credit for that for the most part.

I did think we'd get a reality check against PSG. We're just not at that level.

Outclassed. Not been convinced about our performances at home under Ole. Away from home brilliant. We look a bit clueless in attack at home and our weak defence doesn’t help. I wished the ref actually sent Young off in the end.

Big few matches coming for Ole next. I wasn’t buying into some fans saying we should give him the job. For me the period now and until end of March will show us how far we come.

PSG much the better team in the second half. Poor defending for both goals though. Needless challenge by Pogba for his second yellow. Disappointing but a reality check as others have said.
Shame about the two subs forced on us but no excuses. Got schooled in the second half.

Looking forward to Neil Custis squirming his way out of this tomorrow as he'll no doubt show up on F365 media watch section.

I expected more from Manu, I mean we needed a bit of Brilliance from Bobby to win at Anfield but we dominated them and Neymar plus Cavani was on the pitch as well as Mbappe. Even away we were just awful rather than PSG Being brilliant. I think holding hands up and saying gulf in class is a little too easy, Manu could have played much better imo.

To be fair Linekar made a good point that having those two players out probably helped them be more defensively better. It could have also been a blood bath for us, if they were playing. But they were much better defensively today. If they want to win the champions league that’s how they going to have to play away from home. They can’t just have 3 attacking players up front doing nothing and not even pressing. All the great teams who have won the champions league have had to be good defensively. You can carry one player not bothering to defend like Madrid have with Ronaldo, but you can’t carry 3.

Plus I can’t say I watched the French league often, but they probably improved under Tuchel since September.

We could have played better. But it reminded me of the Juve performance at home a few months ago. We just didn’t have any clue how to attack or put a few passes together to mount any attack. Shaw and Young were just awful going forward. Martial and Lingard didn’t do much. Sanchez and Mata followed that up by doing nothing too. We lack that winger who can consistently beat his man. Martial, Lingard and Sanchez are not consistent dribblers. City and Liverpool have those type of dribblers like Mane, Sane and Sterling.

Disappointing performance and result, I thought we played quite well in the first half and it was a relatively even game, atmosphere at Old Trafford tonight was electric and I was hopeful going into the second half.

Second half performance was just a disaster, the subs killed us. All the movement and energy going forward and defensive tracking back that Jesse and Martial were doing was lost, both Mata and Sanchez were really poor and ineffective at both ends of the pitch. We lost any control and the tie was gone in the space of 10 minutes.

It showed the clear gulf in class between us and PSG and the lack of quality depth, despite the amount of money we've spent, they just totally outplayed us. That they were playing second and third choice players in some positions and they were still excellent spoke volumes, our second choice players (all of whom were bought to be first choice!) continued to be as ineffective as they have all season!

Ole has done a wonderful job so far and got far more out of the quality within the squad than Jose too and deserves full credit for it. However it goes to show that it is still very much a case of papering over the cracks as the glaring squad deficiencies and poor recruitment that has gone on for years now was clear to see tonight. I'm all for Ole staying but whether it's him, Poch or somebody else in charge next season it's obvious that we need a big squad overhaul if we are going to compete at the top end of the table again instead of fighting for scraps.

Big test ahead now how the players respond, the CL tie is as good as over but the FA Cup and 4th spot are still all to play for, big wins against Chelsea and the Scousers are vital.

Christ, Liverpool fans are just insufferable as Man Utd fans.

"Man Utd could have done better." My arse.

While losing 2-0 is not a great sign, PSG are famous for losing second legs after having a comfortable first leg victory.

To be fair that was against Barca and second game was away from home.

I just don’t see it. Obviously stranger things have happened in the champions league. But the second leg is sat nicely for them to sit back and play on the counter with the lightning pace they got up front. Obviously if we score early then they may start to get nervous.

It’s no shame to lose to PSG home or away. But I felt we could have done better at times. I mean the first goal we conceded was ridiculous. Even in the build up to the corner we got Mpabbe who is a midget compared to our centre backs winning headers. Then we have a player free in the middle of the goal. DDG and Matic both could have done better there. That’s probably DDGs weakness. He doesn’t come off his line enough like Big Pete or VDS. He came off his line in the following corner, when he really didn’t need to but I think he knows he could have done better for the first corner.

Disappointed by the loss but I didn't see the game and so cannot comment on the performance. However, I did just hear the PSG manager saying their defence did well to not concede even one big scoring chance, so if that is the case then I upgrade my disappointment to being very severely disappointed. But considering where the team was before Ole took over... I can live with the loss. :)

Next Tuesday we can all look forward to Liverpool trying to not concede a goal to Bayern Munich without Van Dijk. :dread:

1 shot on target for United, lowest at home in the CL since February 2005.

I just felt like the occasion got the better of them, they thought it would be easier without Neymar and Cavani but was probably the opposite. Di Maria was quality and I just knew the booing would only drive him on, don't know why fans do that, it always backfires.

The halftime subs also killed United, replacing Martial and Lingard with the Stodge Brothers was always going to make things much harder. I love Mata for the person he is, but he doesn't fit United's style of play anymore, he just doesn't have the pace. And as for Sanchez...

Mbappe is also ridiculously quick, like McMananamanaman said in commentary "pace trumps everything".

2nd leg will be a dead rubber, they should focus on getting top 4 now so that they can have another shot at the CL next season.

A lot of the players looked nervous on the ball. Even when not pressed they seemed to be passing it to players in shitty positions in a very rushed manner. Or just playing awful passes full stop.

I have a pretty gooseberry fool memory, but I don't recall Di Maria doing anything to warrant booing. Seemed a bit weird and needless.

To be fair the ‘Stodge brothers’ weren’t helped by our fullbacks.

No idea why the club gave Young a new contract. I’m tired of this excuse that he gives 100%. I would for the money he is on and I’d probably put in a better cross after trying 1000 times like him. I can’t believe he is going to be here for nearly a decade. One of the worst and most average players I seen play for us. I seen Bebe and Obertan but they were atleast short term. Him and Valencia should have been shipped back in 2013.

As for Shaw, he has no clue what to do in the final third. He seems to jog whenever he is put through for a good crossing chance. His positional shape in the final third is all over the place and he takes him like a minute to realise where he needs to stand. His crossing is going the way of Valencia.

Our wide areas regardless of the manager need improving. We have nobody who can put a consistent cross in. We could have tried the second PSG goal all night and we’d have probably hit the cross for a throw in most of the time.

Sanchez's legs have gone. What a dreadful signing he's been.
