Sid Lowe also saying Potch is the first choice for Perez.

I can’t see Levy stopping him if he wants to go. Forcing a player to stay is one thing. But a manager is a different scenario and it could effect what they do in the transfer window.

And doesn’t Pochettino have a Madrid get-out clause in his shiny new contract? That’s the word on the street anyway...

English media saying no.

Spanish media saying yes.

But all that doesn’t really matter. It depends on Potch really if he wants to go or stay at Spurs.

The thing is if he does end up selling Chelsea then I think it will just get sold to another billionaire so they will retain their wealthy status anyway. The only way I foresee it going wrong for Chelsea is if he stops putting any more money into the club whatsoever but keeps ownership over a long period of time.

Chelsea will be a hard sell as Roman no doubt will look for the one billion pound owed to him also.

It would have to be owners similar to Roman who don’t care about profits and just basically investing for exposure. There’s not many of them around.

Then you’d have the stadium costs if they do go ahead with it.

Once Spurs move into their new stadium, Chelsea will end up being 6th in terms of most revenue made. They not as popular as Man Utd, Spurs, Arsenal or Liverpool.

He’s pretty much already been tightening the purse strings over recent years hasn’t he? Chelsea’s time is up. Let’s all hope so anyway.

Just noticed England have a couple of friendlies coming up this week: Nigeria on Saturday and Costa Rica on Thursday. Are these really necessary?

We always play a couple of friendlies before the major tournaments. I assume the national sides see the benefit in them as no one is forcing them to play them. As an attraction they are often boring though as they are still like a normal friendly with players giving 50%.

Both good tests against teams in the World Cup. I rather England play teams that will play similar to how Tunisia and Panama will play against us, which is to hit us on the counter.

Rather than get a glamorous friendly against Spain or Portugal. Then if we win people obviously will get hopes up.

I honestly like the England national team because I find it hard not to like players I watch week in and week out, so I'll be supporting England this world cup because once again Northern Ireland didn't make it

A rare breed indeed!

Friendlies this close to a big tournament are always a concern from an injury point of view. Good to get a couple of matches in though, and against teams we don't play often.

Just watch Kane get injured. Our corner-taking will never be the same. :dread:

I'd be worried that Abromovich has cancelled seeking a UK visa and pulled the plug on stadium development if I was a Chelsea fan.

That said, if Chelsea lost all the cash and stumbled into a Leeds type spiral I'd be chuffed. I hate them more than any other club in the Prem,

Sorry for the delay on this but I wanted to listen to it again just to make sure it was as bad as I imagined first thing t'other day. It wasn't. But! His general commentary during the game wasn't anywhere near as excited as Murray's, though I didn't hear him taking over in the 1st half.

Anyway, here's the link to the full commentary: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0b48qpn (Will be gone in 1 day)

Looks like Chelsea won't be going after Sarri after all:
Chelsea have discovered that Sarri, who had been the favourite to get the job, had a homophobic row with Roberto Mancini during a Coppa Italia match last campaign.

At the time, a furious Mancini said: “The confrontation on the touchline? You have to ask Sarri about that.

“He is a racist. People like him do not belong in football. He used racist words.

“I stood up to ask about the five minutes being added on and Sarri shouted ‘poof’ and ‘******’ at me.

“I would be proud to be that if he is what’s considered a man.”

Sarri, who left Napoli last week, was fined €20,000 and banned for two Coppa Italia matches at the time.

“I was just irritable … I was not discriminating against anyone,” Sarri said following the incident. “If I did indeed use those words, then I apologise to the gay community.”

Surely he'd have been a perfect fit?
