He doesn’t really deserve the abuse. Still been our best player by a mile and no it’s not been Chubby Shaw.

The fans applaud Lingard and Rashy when they both have been dreadful for months. I seen another crazy stat about Lingard. The Liverpool right back has more assists this season alone than Lingard has in his career and he’s 20. Denster will defend him to the death on here. I can understand defending Rashy even though I think he has no brain and is basically our version of Aghbonalahor. But Lingard is 27 this year and has to be one of the worst players at the club.

I’d cash in on Pogba if the bid is big enough, but do I trust Solskjaer or the club to spend it right. Not at the moment.

If Ole persists with our gooseberry fool British core which is Lingard, Rashy, Jones, Young and Smalling then he’d be gone before the end of the year. Those players are just not good enough. But he’s already given contracts to Jones and Young, which makes me think he is going to stick with these players.

I called off his players' names as they came marching up the steps behind him....All nice guys. They'll finish last. Nice guys. Finish last.

What Ole needs to do is build a cohesive squad. One that works for each other every week. That's what has been so shocking about the 2 halves of Ole's reign. When they bothered to turn up they were winning away at Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG. When they didn't they drew at Huddersfield and lost at home to Cardiff.

For Pogba to be part of that he'd need to be committed long term and that seems unlikely. They obviously need to bin Sanchez because his wage has skewed everyone's own sense of worth. Unfortunately, I also think it could spell trouble for Martial. I am not sure he's ever going to run all day for you, but I do think there's a wonderful player there if he could.

Whoa. Some very strong opinions on Lingard and Rashford here. Admittedly I don’t watch as much of Man Utd as you guys do but Lingard one of your worst players? That’s surprising as I thought he’s been one of your best outfield players over the past few years (this season excepted due to injuries).

He runs around a lot and came from the academy so he gets a pass or actively defended by some United fans, but he's not good enough and a team with top 4 aspirations shouldn't be relying on him. His stats in particular are woeful. I don't think the club should bin him, but he shouldn't be in the first XI.

Manu should bin Ole and get Potch in, he’s just gonna waist 200m and go nowhere, Potch would start a rebuild with long term ambitions.

On a side issue I see many Manu fans saying get rid of Sabchez, Young, Jones and Smalling. How can they get rid of them? they all got contract extensions and Sanchez is on insane wages.

Agreed, though it pains me to say it. Won't happen though, Woodward can't afford the embarrassment. It'd be farcical.

I do think that there are several better options than Ole, but ultimately the manager is not the real problem at Man Utd and they need to stop looking at it in that way - the idea that the "right" manager plus some marquee signing(s) are going to fix things.

There is a need for a full review and overhaul of pretty much the whole club setup, but I can't see that coming personally.

I disagree, Potch, Klopp and Pep all have a philosophy to build towards, It's taken Potch and Klopp about 3 years to transition their respective teams where they are now and pep had his background staff from Barca installed ahead of his arrival too.

Look at the first 11 Klopp inherited: Sakho, Moreno, Lucas Leiva with Ricky Lambart, Ballotellii and Origi up front. They've all been binned bar Moreno and Origi who both should off this summer. On top of that he's improved Milner, Hendo and Firmino.

One of these managers, if allowed would overhaul the whole squad, Ole won't cos he doesn't have a set vision for what he wants and the players he needs to play within that system.

But that's the problem - the setup at United doesn't seem fit to support the kind of philosophy and "building something to last" approach that has worked for Potch, Klopp et al.

I've no doubt that Ole, Mourinho, LVG, and even Moyes had a vision and philosophy that they wanted to play out, they may not have had the same level of clarity in that vision as others or the same will and drive to see it through, but it would have been there. Eventually you have to start asking yourself why no manager is having an impact and it might be that other aspects of the way the club is organised and has their priorities set is having a detrimental effect on whatever the manger is trying to implement.

Also, it would help to stop spunking cash on gooseberry fool players, but that's a given! ;)

Well, yes I see that side of the argument. Liverpool Appointed Michael Edwards as Director of football in or around the same time as Making Klopp Manager. Klopp gets last say but Michael Edwards handles negotiations and potential players Klopp may want to look at. The important thing though is that FSG just took a back seat to Klopp and the Director of Football and let them get on with whatever they wanted. Michael Edwards is the reason Coutinho went for such a high fee and also ensured Barca wouldn't nab another player for 3 years by putting a €100m tax on any liverpool player as part of the coutinho deal. This kind of thinking is brilliant and our incoming players have barely put a foot wrong. I fully expect Keita to step up next season.

Have spoilered the below "in the bin" list for United as I know most people are digesting the end of the season and looking forward to the cup finals coming up, and aren't interested in the clear-out of a dying giant that's become the laughing stock of the league ffs how has it come to this :(

My list of who I want gone:

DDG - he's dangled the prospect of leaving for Madrid in front of the club a few times now, much like Rooney did. If he wants to stay, he needs to sign that contract quicksharp. If he doesn't sign it, get what you can for him and bring in someone else that wants to be at the club. Plus he's been shite this season, which makes his contract demands all the more bizarre.

Lee Grant - who? Go away and stop taking the place of a young keeper learning his trade.

Valencia - contract is up, good servant but I'm glad he's going. Adios Tony V!

Jones - there's a good defender in there somewhere, hiding behind all the gurning and injuries. But he can't be relied upon due to his fragility. He's averaged 27 games a season in all competitions for United since joining EIGHT years ago (8!). He only managed 24 games this season out of 53. But nah give him another 4 years I'm sure he'll come good :slol:

Darmian - what even is he? In the bin please.

Rojo - a walking liability, injured more than he's fit and he's not very good.

Bailly - the Ivorian Rojo. Not shown enough to stay at the club, let someone else deal with him.

Young - the epitome of what's wrong with the club. Can't fault his effort and pashun, but his ability is far below what is required, and has been for some time. Shouldn't be in the first team squad, should be in the matchday squad, shouldn't be starting most games, shouldn't be the captain.

Matic - legs have gone, slows down the play too much and isn't mobile enough to play CDM.

Lingard - not good enough, regardless of his academy roots and apparent effort on the pitch. Stats don't lie, he doesn't score or assist anywhere near the level required to be a CAM/RW/LW in a top 6 club. He's 27 this year so the "potential" part of his career is over, he isn't going to get any better.

Pogba - the virus. He's our best player, but the juice isn't worth the squeeze. If Madird offer £100m, you've got to take it and reinvest in players that want to be there and are prepared to fight for the club.

Sanchez - probably the worst transfer in the last 20 years at the club. Just looks finished. His wages have warped the salary expectations at the club and it's poisoning the well.

Lukaku - what happened to the dynamic, powerful and confident forward that signed from Everton? Looks like a completely different player now. His first touch is awful, he isn't good at using his strength to hold up the ball, his goalscoring record isn't good enough. "But he puts good crosses in" I hear them say, as if that makes up for the rest. BIN.

If we're doing bin lists then here's my in and out list for Everton:

In:
Kurt Zouma - Probably won't happen because of Chelsea's transfer ban but he has managed to push Yerry Mina out of the starting lineup and become our preferred CB.
André Gomes - Club want him, fans want him, no brainier.
Henry Onyekuru - Maybe this'll be the summer where he finally gets his work permit.
Mason Holgate - Has apparently put in some decent shifts for West Brom. Wouldn't hurt to give him another chance.
Nikola Vlašić - Been on loan to CSKA Moscow. Is convinced the club don't want him but he's only 21. He's an investment.
Kieran Dowell - Has apparently been good for Sheffield United. Next season is his make or break imo.

Out:
Kevin Mirallas - Last full season at the club was filled with stories of his questionable attitude, been out on loan this year, won't have a place when he comes back.
Luke Garbutt - Was given a chance under Martinez and got a very big contract but it's obvious that League one is his level.
Ashley Williams - Had an alright first season and then declined very quickly to the point where fans actively dislike him. Championship is his level.
Muhamed Bešić - No hard feeling here it simply didn't work out. I think it'd be good if he moved to Middlesbrough permanently.
Oumar Niasse - Love the guy but he has never been in the clubs plans and he needs to find a club that will want him.
Cuco Martina - Back-up player, did what he was paid to do but not someone we need.
Sandro Ramírez - This mother strawberry floater is on £120k a week and hasn't scored a goal since 2017. Baffling how hard he has fallen.
Yannick Bolasie - Hasn't been the same since the knee injury. Championship is his level.
James McCarthy - Has been a good servant for the club but he is always injured and I can't see him getting back into the team once he is finally fit.

Maybe keep for one more season then shift:
Leighton Baines - Club legend, age is catching up to him and he probably only has next season left in him as a squad player.
Phil Jagielka - Could end up going back to Sheffield United next season. Club legend either way. He's in his twilight but we are a team who need leaders in the locker room right now.
Cenk Tosun - Fans like him but once we get that top level striker fans have been calling for it'll be hard to see him get any game time.
Yerry Mina - Can't seem to get a game and has even had a 36 year old Phil Jagielka picked over him. Give him next season and see how it goes.

I'm excluding youth players from this for obvious reasons.

I think with United, we never really gone with a manager whose in their prime or entering their prime. Moyes never had a prime. LVG and Mourinho by the time they got here were past their prime.

Woodward is just reactionary and makes knee jerk decisions. The plan he had to hire a DOF after Jose was sacked was the correct one. But he got too sucked into Oles at the wheel and all that crap, so decided to give him the job at a time when he didn’t need to. It’s not like Ole had clubs chasing him, so we had to make a decision quickly. It was after two defeats in a row too. He should have waited to see how we would react.

Now we going to give another manager probably £200m to waste and in 12 months time, we’d have to reset. Ole signed like 17 players in his stay at Cardiff and I don’t recall any of them being successful. I’m just not sure about him tactically. Yes the fitness of the squad is shocking, but you don’t need fitness to beat Huddersfield or Cardiff. When we have the ball, we look lost on what to do with it. I also can’t recall the last caretaker manager who was made permanent that survived longer than a year.

As for Lingard a good source on reddit said he’s on thin ice because he’s focused on his brand rather than football. No idea who would buy his clothing.

Agree with that.

I can’t really make a case for any of those players to stay. DDG is probably the only one, but if he doesn’t want to stay then sell him and I rather invest that money in our defence for now. Romero and Henderson should be enough and hopefully if we have better defenders our keeper won’t have to make as many saves as DDG has done. Oblak is the obvious candidate to replace him, but I don’t see us spending the crazy money needed to sign him this year.

Jones isn’t going anywhere though. Phelan likes him, Carrick is his ex team mate. He’s just signed a 4 year plus 1 contract.
