Umbro haven't put it up on their Twitter page. Every other kit made by them has been put on there at the same time the club has announced it.
They're wearing it tonight in a friendly, so either the real one will be worn then, or they'll wear the joke one and reveal the real one when it goes on sale on Saturday.
It doesn't conform the the regulations in terms of sponsor logo size, so I don't see how it can be anything than a marketing stunt. I strawberry floating hate Paddy Power.
Huddersfield Town have been contacted by the Football Association about the large sponsors' logo the Championship side have said will feature on their kit for the 2019-20 season.
The Terriers revealed the shirt on Wednesday and wore it in their friendly with Rochdale that evening.
But it appears to breach FA guidelines on shirt sponsorship, raising the possibility of it being banned.
The FA has asked Huddersfield for their observations about the kit.
"The FA has clear kit and advertising regulations for all club matchday kits," the FA said in a statement.
"If we believe that any club has breached these rules we will look into the matter and, if required, will take the appropriate action."
FA regulations clearly state a playing kit is only permitted to have "one single area not exceeding 250 square centimetres on the front of the shirt".
Huddersfield have said it will be their home kit for the upcoming season and confirmed it will go on sale on Saturday.
The club's shirt sponsor Paddy Power has not responded to questions on whether the kit is a spoof or may breach regulations, and referred instead to its own statement.
"We're delighted to work with Huddersfield Town on this bold new kit design," it said.
"As a brand which embraces doing things differently, we didn't want to get into shirt sponsorship just to do the same as everyone else. We feel the diagonal design will be the most distinctive sponsor logo in the Football League - appropriate for the most distinctive sponsor there is.
"We're sure Huddersfield fans will be delighted with this season's kit."
On the kit they wore tonight, the sponsor was partly on the sleeve on some kits, on some the first 'P' was slightly out of the white box, and the club badge was in slightly different positions on some shirts, one of which was covering part of the sponsor.
Question Of The Indeterminate But Finite Time Period
Very simple: recommend a decent football podcast. Serious or funny, retro or current, general or club specific. Whatever floats your boat.
My suggestion is Athletico Mince. Hosted by Bob Mortimer and Andy Dawson, and with a "guaranteed eight percent football content", it's obviously not the most serious choice, but it is very funny. Basically it's a series of segments which include outlandish stories involving caricatures of the likes of Steve McLaren, Peter Beardsley, the GANGS OF THE EPL, and other characters, songs, general chat and the nonsense you'd expect from Bob Mortimer. Worth going through in order because a lot of the stories have a serial narrative running through them, but there are a couple of clips below (NSFW):
I really enjoy the Quickly Kevin podcast. It's all about 90s football and often features either interviews with ex-pros or with comedians talking about their club or international football during the 90s. It's co-hosted by Josh Widdecombe. It's definitely on the silly side - a lot of it seems to be them laughing at reader emails about seeing ex footballers out of context.
90s football was brilliant. You had the beginning of the Sky era, and all the money and attention that came with it, but a lot of the people involved in the game were still really old-school or somewhat unprofessional. You get some really odd stories that you'd never get happening now.
The only football podcasts I listen to are Athletico Mince (which has nothing to do with football) and One Stream In Bristol (which is only of interest to Bristol City fans).
