Up to episode 43 now :toot:

Just in case anyone was interested (tumbleweed.gif), this series got up to episode 94 before the author suffered a massive laptop failure and lost all of his files. He did at least manage to finish Rushden's maiden season in the Premier League, finishing an impressive 3rd behind Middlesbrough (who also reached the CL semis  ) and Man United.

It was a great series and well worth a read if you've got the time, really funny and a great nostalgia hit for turn-of-the-Millenium football

Didn't help though did it!

I hear Lingard is ill, meaning Southgate won't get interrogated by the papers for picking him. Wonder if we'll see an equally ludicrous player choice to compensate? Rice starting perhaps?

Kosovo beating Czech Republic! Because of Euro 96 I always think the Czech Republic are a decent side, but maybe not.

I felt a bit bad the way Everton pursued Silva while he was at Watford but Watford cannot expect any loyalty from a manager the rate they go through them.

They had a good side at the turn of the century. Koller, Nedved, Cech and Rosicky were all brilliant, and players like Milan Baros were also decent. Looking into it though, they only made the 2006 World Cup and got eliminated in the groups. Even if they are a bit crap though, they should be beating Kosovo!

To be honest I actually get them confused with Croatia because they both came onto the scene at about the same time and were both quite well regarded

Sorry but as soon as you said turn of the century I immediately thought of this and got distracted.

Why is this not at Wembley? That seems very disrespectful to me.

I agree, I don’t think they’d be playing it away from there - especially at such a gooseberry fool hole like St Mary’s ( :shifty: ) - if we were playing a ‘big’ team.

I swear England score most of their goals from set pieces, it’s worrying how much we rely on them.

Keane :dread:

Bit ridiculous that Gomez, who's barely played recently, is the only CB cover in the squad.
