Didn't see that coming. Turned off at halftime thinking Chelsea were very unlucky to go in behind. Just checked the score to see 4-0 .

Some poor stuff from the officials in that game. Playing on once when a player is down holding their head could be excused as a mistake but to do so twice just seems negligent.

Great result, albeit a flattering one. First half was definitely more Chelsea and the penalty came totally against the run of play. We improved and improved after that though and all 3 goals that followed were really well taken.

Thought Maguire and AWB had excellent debuts and loved seeing Dan James get a debut goal. Pogba played some outstanding forward passes, the pressing from McTominay and Lingard was relentless and De Gea looked like his old self. The pace and movement on the break is really going to hurt teams this season if we can maintain it.

Felt a bit sorry for Chelsea as they didn't deserve a hammering, like I say, the scoreline flattered us. Mount was excellent and I don't think he'll have too much difficulty transferring his Derby form to the PL. Emerson had a very good game too and was unlucky not to score.

Yeah, wasn't the best

Enjoyed the United game though. Chelsea looked decent at times but just no real end product. United were good on the counter in the second half and a clean sheet is great.

Chelsea were the better team first half and the least they'd deserved was to be level at half time. A big part of that was our losing the ball and not pressing aggressively enough. We did that in the second half and got our reward. Has to be said that for all their positives of the first half - Chelsea were appalling for that second one. As soon as we started putting them under pressure they wilted. Cant seem them coping with Liverpool's front line in the Super cup.

United agree €10m deal for Monaco teenager Mejbri

Manchester United have agreed a €10m (£9.4m) deal to sign highly-rated French teenager Hannibal Mejbri from Monaco, subject to Fifa clearance.

The 16-year-old midfielder was also thought to be on the radars of Leicester City and Tottenham – but United have announced they have “reached an agreement” with Monaco. The Ligue 1 club will reportedly receive €5m up front, with the rest in potential add-ons.

United have also signed forward Dillon Hoogewerf from Ajax, midfielder Mateo Mejia from Real Zaragoza and goalkeeper Johan Guadagno from Swedish club Brommapojkarna, while centre-back Bjorn Hardley is awaiting clearance to complete a move from NAC Breda.

Can't agree with Jermaine Jenas about Boly's arm not deflecting the ball for Wolves' goal, it kills it stone dead for the finish. I don't think having zero tolerance for handball in VAR decisions is a bad thing though, at least until the technology has bedded in and perhaps the decision times have come down.

Don't get carried away. Steve Bruce is the worst manager in the league and this is Newcastle's season to be relegated.
