Good. Really hope Pep quits and a lot of players demand transfers. Bet it doesn't stick though.

Sadly I'm sure Man City will wriggle out of it. Although even a reduced ban could still be a season out of Europe.

I can only see the following happening. City will obviously appeal. Uefa will then suspend the punishment pending the appeal. The appeal will then be tied up in court for years before it gets reduced to a one season suspended ban pending any further offences in the next 12 months.

Interestingly though, if they have breached uefa rules on FFP then they may have breached Premier league rules as well. Could be a points deduction or similar incoming.

Extremely problematic for football if Man City overturn this. Here's hoping the ban is upheld. It'd be great if the financial penalty could somehow be incurred by the club's current owners, mind.

It should be paid by the club as it’s the club that has in their eyes received the illegal money. If the owners pay it then their is no punishment as the owners have an almost bottomless pit of cash.

Good news, really hope it doesn't get overturned either as a strong message is required here.

If it doesn’t get overturned it’ll be a cracking fight for 5th in the table to see who gets the last Champions League spot, unverifiable to think Sheffield United are in with a slim chance of it as well.

I’m expecting it’ll get overturned though :(

City got fined 50m euros in 2014 and eventually accepted it after giving up fighting it.

I imagine what will happen here is they'll appeal it and it will get downgraded to just a fine.

"Slim" chance of 5th? I totally get not wanting to get carried away, but Sheffield United are definitely in the mix for 5th. I certainly wouldn't be betting against you.

You've even stopped starting the Lord (not sure why mind...).

The problem is they will take it to the Court of Appeal who won't really be bothered with the need for a strong message.

City said this:

Simply put, this is a case initiated by Uefa, prosecuted by Uefa and judged by Uefa. With this prejudicial process now over, the club will pursue an impartial judgment as quickly as possible and will therefore, in the first instance, commence proceedings with the Court of Arbitration for Sport at the earliest opportunity.

That is the worst VAR yet in the Wolves - Leicester game. Absolutely insane.

But his foot was offside?

He was running back away from goal and the ball was played backwards. It's an appalling decision.

So Pep to leave now that he can't win the CL for a few more years?

Unless I'm being really stupid he is still in an offside position.

(I really hope I don't look stupid here)

Who exactly are Man City expecting to uphold the laws and regulations of European football? Interpol?

How would United fans feel if Pep left and City got Pochettino at the end of the season?

Whether he is in an offside position is kind of irrelevant here. Apart from the fact his foot is slightly offside which never would have been spotted before, let alone complained about, he is running away from the goal line and the ball was played backwards. Nobody wants to see goals like that disallowed. It's sickening.

I might be a little bit of a pessimist on some things

As for why we don’t start Lundstrum, I have no idea as he’s had an amazing season bar a few off games. Guess they’ve got to start the record signing a few times before giving the lord his place back though!
