Anyone else watching the Belarus Premier League? It's still going, you can watch the matches on a well known betting site if you place a bet.

Currently rooting for Smolevichi against our rivals the hated Isloch FC.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Not looking to single out Spurs here, as I can imagine Arsenal and the rest of the Premier League may well follow suit, but this is disgusting behaviour if the playing staff aren't taking even a slight pay cut as well.

Yep, the top flight players could likely take a paltry 10% pay cut and that would fund most of the none playing staff for all the leagues let alone the premiership. Hell, you could most likely throw in all the teams in the UK as well.

I know Juventus players are taking a few months pay freeze to try and save the club so it's not like the players are going to run out of money instantly.

I read that Barca players are taking a 70% pay cut to ensure the regular staff get 100% of their wages, which is nice.

Barcelona players have taken a 70% pay cut so that all non-playing staff can still be payed in full and will make further donations if needed.

I can understand lower league clubs having place all non-playing staff on furlough as they don't have the income that Premier League clubs do, but all Premier League clubs should be looking at reducing the wages of all players, especially the ones that are in the first team, instead of making those who actually need the money having to rely on the government giving it to them.

Only 4 players beside Juan Mata are giving up a measly 1% of their wages. Footballers are arseholes.

That's assuming that other players don't give to their own charities etc.

Mean most players are thick with money but most nowadays have accountants clever enough to at least put some towards charities/savings/investments.

Half the clubs are owned by petrol states/"investors".

If I was a Man City player why would I give up some of my salary to the UAE or if I was a Man United player to the dividend receiving shareholders, to help the club do something which they could be doing anyway?

Well you wouldn’t be singling them out as Newcastle had already announced plans to do the same before spurs.

The premier league are meeting with the PFA today or tomorrow, I can’t remember which to discuss standard cuts to their salaries.
