Positive Covid cases doubled across the Premier League in the last week apparently.

I don't want to see the season suspended again like last time but it feels like they are going to have to move to a tighter set of restrictions for the club's otherwise it's going to spiral

I bet I can guess Farage's opinion on what Cavani said...

Trippier has used the "it was just banter" excuse  :fp:

Actually think it is a fair excuse in this case

I really don't see why he can't tell his mates he is moving clubs and the betting companies get so much protection for these kind of markets.

Of course you should be allowed to tell people in you're moving clubs, especially if it results in you moving to another country. Betting markets should be banned on anything that can have guaranteed outcome before it comes public knowledge, such as transfers and managerial appointments.

Yep, totally agree.

Or they can run the markets but aren't allowed to cry when someone with information wins something.

Yep, defo. It's betting companies trying to exploit punters (i.e gamble and lose), yet when the punter cant lose they kick up a fuss and cry to the ombudsman. Shithouses

Another semi-final defeat for Ole and United, very frustrating.

I'm glad he's written this. It annoys me when fans and pundits decide moments like this were deliberate after they watch it back in slow motion.

Surprised the Villa v Liverpool game hasn't been called off given the extent of the Covid outbreak we've had and the ease with which other games seem to have been dropped.

Should be interesting to see who gets a game and how they fare if nothing else!

I think as long as you've got some U18s available it's only fair you play

I agree entirely, but I think that is what should have happened in pretty much all of the recently postponed games. They all could have fielded a side

I've been assuming that it's been working as followed

We know who has COVID-19 in our squad, they're all isolating and everyone else has tested negative since we found the outbreak, but we've only got 14 players- game stays on.

We've had a bunch of positive tests we had a training session yesterday and we've not worked out who hasn't got it yet- game off.

I've been assuming it's just based on the fact that other teams have cried off as soon as they potentially lose a few players.

To be fair, I think it's more to protect the opposition than anything.

You can say make them play with what they've got, and that's fair enough, but you don't know if they're playing with players that have Covid that then pass it onto the opposition.

I agree that protecting anyone who has not been exposed is of paramount important, but I also think that has been a convenient excuse in some cases.

You're not telling me that Man City couldn't field a team after only 5 positive cases? Villa have had 10 positives this week.

I guess it's differences in Premier League/FA rules and their implementation. Evidently the FA's is if there's 14 players whereas the Premier League would seem to be a lot more fluffy

No that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying the PL are making the decision to postpone the game because they're worried about outbreaks spreading. It is isn't about whether Man City or whoever can field a team or not.

And all the clubs with outbreaks can do is request a postponement. It is still ultimately the PL's decision. They could quite easily say "nope, it goes ahead or you forfeit" if they wanted, per their rules.
