Theres actually a chance West Ham might be able to overtake Leicester which would make it interesting.

Leciester's run in is much, more worse than West Ham's and they have the distraction of the FA Cup.

Rodgers loves an end of season collapse.

I watched that Ian Wright documentary the other night about domestic abuse. Worth a watch for anyone interested: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m ... ome-truths

This is probably worth a watch too, about racism, chatting with Shearer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LxpeIULvPA

:? There’s are the decisions where you should just go with the refs first decision, whatever happened to only overturning an obvious error? There is no way they can say if he was offside or not in this situation.

Also isn’t level onside? :fp:

The 'obvious error' caveat doesn't apply to offsides.

It's literally never been just about "clear and obvious errors" and I'm convinced at this point that everyone deliberately ignored this from the off to manufacture 90% of the controversy around VAR.

VAR can be used to overturn a subjective decision if a "clear and obvious error" has been identified.

The referee will explain their decision to the VAR, and what they have seen.

If the evidence provided by the broadcast footage does not accord with what the referee believes they have seen, then the VAR can recommend an overturn

The clear and obvious thing is besides the point. I'm sick of VAR intervening in offside decisions like this. There is no way you can say he is off or onside when the ball was released.

The clear and obvious thing doesn't apply to offsides. They check it and call them whatever.

VAR will only be used for "clear and obvious errors" or "serious missed incidents" in four match-changing situations:
– Goals
– Penalty decisions
– Direct red card incidents
– Mistaken identity

This has always been the protocol. If a goal has been scored then it'll be checked for anything to disallow it.

You know what, VAR is one of things I definitely won’t miss next year being back in the Championship, its a good idea in principle but it just doesn't seem to be used for the right reasons most of the time.

So speaks someone who hasn't had to indure Championship refs for a few seasons...

I'm aware of that. That's my point.

Indeed. They definitely call it whatever

I know I say this nearly every week but I just can't stand the use of VAR for tight decisions like that. The technology is not good enough to call it.

Had for them a couple of seasons……. League One referees for even more! It’s the ridiculous marginal offsides that irk me the most with VAR, alongside the few challenges that at normal speed look like a hard but fair challenge, but when slowed down far too much make it look malicious like one player was purposefully trying to injure his opponent.

Chelsea have City's number, have to be favourites for the Champions League and will challenge for the title next year. Impressed with Tuchel.

Another good demonstration yesterday of why Dier shouldn't be anywhere near the national team.

Gonna be pretty funny if Tuchel casually strolls into English football and wins the FA Cup and CL while PSG crash out of Europe again
