There’s are the decisions where you should just go with the refs first decision, whatever happened to only overturning an obvious error? There is no way they can say if he was offside or not in this situation.

Also isn’t level onside?

The 'obvious error' caveat doesn't apply to offsides.

VAR will only be used for "clear and obvious errors" or "serious missed incidents" in four match-changing situations:
– Goals
– Penalty decisions
– Direct red card incidents
– Mistaken identity

This has always been the protocol. If a goal has been scored then it'll be checked for anything to disallow it.

You know what, VAR is one of things I definitely won’t miss next year being back in the Championship, its a good idea in principle but it just doesn't seem to be used for the right reasons most of the time.

Indeed. They definitely call it whatever

I know I say this nearly every week but I just can't stand the use of VAR for tight decisions like that. The technology is not good enough to call it.

Had for them a couple of seasons……. League One referees for even more! It’s the ridiculous marginal offsides that irk me the most with VAR, alongside the few challenges that at normal speed look like a hard but fair challenge, but when slowed down far too much make it look malicious like one player was purposefully trying to injure his opponent.

Chelsea have City's number, have to be favourites for the Champions League and will challenge for the title next year. Impressed with Tuchel.
