I can't say I'm surprised considering they could have had Conte instead, a proven winner at the peak of his powers, who rebuilt Inter and led them to the Serie A title in two seasons.

That said, some of the Tottenham players had their own reservations about the possible arrival of Conte. They had heard from their friends at other clubs just how extreme and demanding Conte’s methods were, and how little attention he paid to the academy and to younger players.

I’m done with spurs until enic sell up. Such a lack of ambition, its been incredibly embarassing and they expect us to pay the highest ticket prices? They can stuff it and all spurs supporters should protest against this. Would rather have mourinho or potter to this journeyman.

Conte is a difficult one because he gets results but is terrible gor club culture. But like Capello really.

I reckon a majority of Spurs supporters could put up with it if it meant winning a few trophies.

Ange Postecoglou has been appointed as Celtic's new manager on a 12-month rolling contract.

The 55-year-old replaces Neil Lennon, who resigned in February as the club failed in a bid to win a record 10th consecutive Scottish Premiership title.

The former Australia boss joins from Yokohama F Marinos in Japan.

Spurs did win half a trophy last season to be fair:

Speaking to The Sun, Mourinho said: “So if you want me to be proactive now you can ask me, ‘how many trophies have you won in your career?’ I’ll tell you 25 and a half. The half is the final that I didn’t play with Tottenham.

Feels like a good chance Tottenham have had their "bumper period" now and will be back to bouncing around the upper mid-table region again

Seriously though, this guy is not a good manager. I follow the Aussie national team and he was fairly rubbish with them, almost failed to qualify for 2018 from a route you'd describe as pretty pedestrian. IIRC they had to beat someone like Syria in extra time to get through. Decent home record, awful away from home, which is not good for the job he's found himself in.

Norwich City have cancelled their controversial shirt sponsorship for the 2021-22 Premier League season with obscure Asian gambling company BK8 after just three days.

Following Monday’s announcement of Norwich’s new primary partner, BK8 were found to be using highly sexualised images of young women in social media promotions that would have been banned by the UK Advertising Standards Agency.

The Instagram account of a BK8 “ambassador” with more than a quarter of a million followers also linked directly to hardcore pornography.

It led to a backlash from supporters on Twitter, more than 100 complaints sent to the club and video statements from supporters’ groups.

Having received feedback from its supporters and partners, the club announced the end of its sponsorship deal with BK8 on Thursday morning.

Somebody's strawberry floated up here, massively.

Seems odd that Celtic have only given this guy a 12 month contract - almost like they're expecting it to not work out?

Silver lining with the Norwich thing is that it might mean one less gambling company being advertised. It's mad how prevalent and normalised it is. When I was watching the England match the other day I was wondering if we'll ever look back some day and wonder how or why we ever bombarded people so much with constant encouragement to gamble, and how accepted advertising gambling to kids is. It's crazy how normal it's become, especially in something that has an audience of all ages.
