Ole's comments were a joke, especially when Penaldes does the same thing every other game. Time for Mourinho to go, just utterly toxic and we probably need to shift half the squad, with Sanchez, Aurier and Dier and the front of the queue for release. Dier and Sanchez are not even proper footballers!

Can't believe I'm going to say this but I thought it was a foul. :slol:

Thought it was a foul too. If it had been picked up when it happened and play stopped I doubt anyone would have complained, but because it wasn't and then a great goal was disallowed it's always going to kick up a stink.

I think it's one of those, where if it happens to one of your team it's a foul, but if given against you then you are furious.

Yeah you can't raise your hand into player's faces and not expect something given. Especially against a Mourinho team

Jose to Palace after Levy pulls the trigger when Spurs don't qualify for Europe please.

Another weekend, another complaint of racism on social media.

It sounds awful but if players and clubs don't like it, they need to close and delete their accounts. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc are not interested in changing as long as the money rolls in.

Are you suggesting they should put up and shut up? Seems unlikely but not sure what else I can infer from one sole emote.

Trouble is the money rolls in for everyone - the players and clubs will all be getting financial support from social media contracts, sponsorship will be dependant on it etc. so the chances of them just shutting to down are pretty slim sadly.

And let the racists win?

I (possibly optimistically) inferred that clubs need to boycott and hopefully hit social media pockets in order to encourage them to take stronger action against the racists.

The amount of power in the hands of players at present is unrivalled - if they want to threaten to down tools unless their club acts... there isn't much their club can do. If they really want to do something they can. It isn't nearly as nuanced as people might want to believe. If supporting players is really as important as clubs want to make out, they can sever ties with the social media sites that refuse to take action.

Nothing is going to change otherwise. Twitter and Facebook won't do anything until their bottom line takes hits.

The current strategy of reporting these incidents is completely ineffective, so unless something changes, we'll be stuck in an endless state of limbo where week in, week out, a player will be targeted, it'll make headlines, and it'll get reported. Nothing will change.

agreed - all clubs and players taking themselves off social media a) may force the companies to take stronger action, b) these racist pricks will have no one to vent their bile to
it might be seen as a brief 'giving in to the racists' but without targets to attack theyll be quite impotent: they have so much power at present to ruin sometimes week/month by just creating an account and typing a few messages.

It doesn't just need clubs and players to come off social media, it needs the most followed people in the world to come off, and all at the same time. It's the only way action may be taken.

I think something like that does actually have a slim chance of happening, but it'll take a large number of extremely influential people in order to pull it off.

I suspect there is a large web of loopholes and workarounds just waiting to be exploited in the event any government(s) try to implement a strict form of regulation.

It's worth constant interruptions to reach the correct decision.
