Since all the money is in broadcast rights and both Sky and Amazon have backed off (for now)... how exactly are they expecting to reimburse themselves? Entirely through international broadcasts? That's an insane business model if so.

Maybe they want to cut out the middle man and broadcast it themselves, PPV?
If the major players like Comcast, BT Sport, Discovery, Disney, Amazon and Netflix all came together and refused to bid, the Super League would effectively have to launch their own streaming service and bank on enough people subscribing to it.
How many times per month do Sky Sports Premier League/Football customers, paying at least £45 a month or £10 for 24 hours access, get to see their team play currently? 2, 3 times? If you're a casual fan, doesn't give a gooseberry fool about the rest of football or its national traditions, and you can now see Man Utd play for a fiver a month, and do so from anywhere in the world, I can see the appeal.

The problem is no one knows at the moment, it's all rumours and 'leaks'. The facts we know are from their statement of intent.
They've clearly been meeting and discussing this for a few years so it would be incredibly surprising if they haven't discussed any of their with media partners worldwide especially as they want to launch this year. Media deals are normally signed at least a year in advance in football.

I don't believe they'd go into this without some contract tying everyone in. Twenty three years sound like a lot but there must be some penalty for withdrawing.
