Some nice goals by West Brom though. Other standout from yesterday was De Bruyne's pass against Leicester.

And Rhian Brewster has to go down as the worst signing of the season, surely. How the hell did Liverpool convince Sheffield Utd to spend £23.5 million on him  :dread: :fp:
Did nothing for Liverpool at all while he was there (still remember the video of him showing off this CL medal which he did absolutely nothing to play a part in winning  :fp: ) and has done nothing for Sheffield Utd either. Awful.

Liverpool must be laughing for how much they got for Brewster :fp: I still feel he’s not been given anywhere near enough game time considering how much we spent on him but I think regardless we’ll have him next season, he’s not done anything where another Premiership team will snap him up for next season. Hopefully he has a cracking season in the championship, a £23.5 million striker should be banging them in for fun really.

It’s amazing how much unproven strikers can go for now just because they are young and on the books at a big club.

Joe Willock currently the front runner for our player of the month despite being on loan.

Frustrating from us, reverting to trying to defend the lead from the start of the second half. Utd weren't especially threatening either.

I didn't realise that Brewster had been on loan to Swansea. Could be he needs more time, but could be that the Championship is his level, a bit like Gayle and Maupay.

Very pleased with the Villa win yesterday, considering where the game was with about 25 mins left. Watching El-Ghazi and Traore running around, trying tricks, and then just falling over and/or losing possession is so frustrating.

Usually when Kienan Davis comes on it's a sure-fire sign that we've run out of options and have no more ideas. He's not exactly someone to bring on when you want a goal. But he actually had an impact yesterday, as well as Trezeguet obviously. Davis looks quicker and less lumbering - must've lost some weight, as he was always a chunky boy.

Mings always has a mistake in him, and usually he gets away with it, but not yesterday. Was great - and surprising - to see the comeback though.

He made the wrong move, he should have done another loan in the Championship for a season.

J-Lingz is on fire for West Ham. Gary's blatantly going to include him in the Euro squad now.

Brewster won the golden boot in the under 17 World Cup for England and was breaking the scoring records of Fowler and Owen in the Liverpool youth team. It’s not just cos he was ‘on the books’.

Paying for potential doesn't always get results. That goes with any team.

Liverpool and Chelsea have certainly mastered the art of getting a lot of money for unproven players. £20+ million for one good championship season and under 18s record shows how often transfer fees have gone over the top.

Lingard would be welcome back at United on his current form.
Fair play to the lad.

Lol at the thread title.

Brewster he has decent pedigree; he needs minutes on the pitch to develop. The majority of his appearances this season have been as a substitute.

This is the most annoying/disappointing thing about signing him this season, we can’t score before we bought a £20 whatever million striker, so what do we do after signing him? Have him on the bench mainly and barely even bring him on when we’re still not scoring :fp:

Didn't you bring on a 16 year old over him at Selhurst this year?

He might have a bit of the billy big boots on the training ground. Wilder wouldn't be happy with that.

No clue why Thiago isn't playing. Trent is having a mare and you can't expect miracles from Nat x Kabak.

That disallowed Dortmund goal was utterly baffling.

If the ref hadn't blown his whistle too early it would have counted as it would have been reviewed by VAR. :fp:

I was talking in general terms and not having a dig at Brewster, I’m aware Brewster was highly thought of however club records are full of players who never made it in the first team.

Just seen the highlights of this, what a terrible decision and exactly th type of thing you would wan't VAR to overturn :fp:
