4 out of the last 5 titles is a bit depressing. People talk about winning the PL is the hardest of the lot but, I dunno, as the fact they are richer than God just gives them the legs for a long 38-game race. It's telling that it's the one-off games in the CL where they struggle.

It's a bit depressing that Liverpool only lost twice this year but still don't claim the title. The fact City can pump so much money into their squad basically means others have to be nigh on flawless to even get close. This Liverpool team - albeit hardly financial minnows themselves - would usually be a side that gets more than one league win.

£100m Grealish sat on the bench for the full game says it all really. Too easy when your funds are secretly topped up by a Crown Prince.

Sums it all up really doesn't it. In what world is it conceivable that a club run "fairly" can afford to drop £100m on a bench warmer.

Real reform in the way funding is managed is needed before it's too late, but too many morally bankrupt fat cats are getting even richer off the status quo so there's zero chance of it happening

People rightly laugh at RM complaining at PSG but they have a point. People seem generally content with City for some reason yet take issue with PSG. I think Pep with his dirty back handers from the state manages to put an acceptable face on it so people just over look it. Wondering which sovereign wealth trough he'll have his nose in next.

I wonder if any soul searching will take place before the Newcastle PL 26/27 win, brought to you by murdered journalists happens. What am I thinking....Of course it won't.

Take 12th at the start of the season, better game management over the season would've definitely resulted in a higher position but it is what it is.

Get some more quality in and that mid table pack will be an interesting fight next season.

Gutted about todays football. Mad that 1 loss and your Championship run can go out the window.
Love this squad, so much, proper fun ride this season. One game to go!

Up the treble chasing reds

Obviously happy to see City win the title. We didn't do it the easy way, but that's not out of the ordinary. People will inevitably point to spending, but it's easy to forget that United have outspent City over the last ten years.

Well done to Liverpool for taking it down to the wire once again. Two trophies is a bloody good season in my book!

Difference is United only spend what they make, and that's with the Glazers taking over a BILLION out of the club as well. City are juiced to the gills, same as PSG.

I think the thread title is a little mean spirited.

Hey I'm both acknowledging their victory whilst also hinting at where they get their unfair advantage from. It is what it is.

It is a little, but I don't think any City fans will be running away in tears. The first question I am asked when people find out I'm a City fan is 'How long have you been supporting them then?' I get it, people want to see a fair playing field and hate glory hunters. I remember feeling the same about Chelsea back in the day. We have an advantage as a club, but it should also be recognised that we have high revenue today in part because of our success in the last decade and investments into the club and facilities paying dividends. Our revenue was the highest in the world last year, but in context, around 20% higher than Man United who by their own standards are struggling somewhat.

All the big English teams are towards the top of the list for highest football club revenue worldwide. City have been the most successful club in the league of the last decade. In fact, anyone of school age has seen City win more titles than any other English club. Our income reflects our success in the richest football league in the world. I recognise however that there are question marks over whether the owners have sought preferential deals or back handers. I hope that is not the case and if it is, we deserve to be punished according to the rules, but I'll still continue to support the club. As fans, we don't have the power to decide who owns our teams. All we can do is ride alongside.

The moneys been mentioned plenty of times in the thread since they won. Doesn't need to be in the title.
I just find it a bit petty.

The money itself isn't as much of an issue as to whose hands it is in

To be fair, if all football fans went green, rather than kept buying our petrol, we wouldn't be able to keep signing new players. Remember that when Haaland scores next season - if only you had walked to work! You only have yourselves to blame.

Personally I drive a 4x4 and constantly tow a caravan, just to enable me to keep supporting my club as efficiently as possible. I have Jesus bumper stickers just to balance out the karma. Hopefully he still plays for us next season. :datass:

And still doesn't need to be in the title. Had a great season the top 2. Both pushed each other onto even greater heights. City showed fantastic character to come back and win today.
Both Klopp and Pep showed a lot of class in praising the other's team.
Distinct lack of class in the title.

Now, the season is over.

I am much looking forward to see who's getting kick out of Manchester United by Ten Hag.

De Gea mentioned today that if any one doesn't want to fight for a place in the squad in the next season - just go!
