Liverpool for sure will drop points in the late winter /spring but city just seem to improve through the season every season.

Not only match, I think there's a good argument Chelssa now have a better squad than City.

Wan Basaka is guff.
Rice is Good.

Ronaldo should have easily had a pen today. Reffing is gooseberry fool.

Imagine being a manager in 2021 and bringing a player on just to take a penalty.

Just imagine that.

Crazy

Justified result there I feel. one of the challenges on Ronaldo was a stonewall, the other could've easily been given.

That was funny, even if it meant Man Utd one.

No idea why people thought that Ronaldo should've got a penalty when he was half way down before contact even happened (the second one). Whilst also ignoring that West Ham should've got one prior to either of those ones.

Should have taken some practice spot kicks in the loo before coming on. Seriously though, sports where hundreds of millions of pounds ride on a crucial kick, hit or toss of a ball have long used pinch players. Why not football? We just need to stop half arsing it.

Those sports where it happens more tend to have players who's only job is to do that one thing. So they practice it over and over again. Clearly Mark Noble isn't practicing penalties over and over again, bringing him on when he's been sat on the bench without warming up for a high pressure penalty is bonkers.

The more sensible answer is to have a group of players that are agrees on and practice in training regularly, one of whom can step up to take one when needed.

Yes, in the current system that makes more sense. Though if he's good enough to bring on to take a penalty, then you have to assume that he actually is taking lots and lots of practice penalties, no?

Clearly he's not good enough to bring on to take a pen though ;)

He is a regular taker for them, so I'm sure he's practising them in training but they should have more than one option for any given situation.

Dunno how true it is, but just heard Moyes say he's one of the best in Europe. (Not sure if he meant that statistically, or as an opinion.) Also that they've missed them recently, hence bringing him on for the penalty.

Chelsea look good don't they?

Tuchel makes a tactical change at nil nil at half time and they win 3-0

Gonna be a low, low quality NLD next weekend. Might be high on entertainment for the neutral though!

I like Brighton and Potter, and am chuffed to see them doing well, but there is no way you deserved to win today. The penalty decision was absolutely farcical.

Just caught the highlights on MOTD2.

Definitely not a penalty for our first as Maupay is holding Vestergaard down. Makes up for Burnley's goal being allowed to stand at Turf Moor a few weeks back though!

Don't really see how Barnes was obstructing our goalkeeper's vision at the end either. I think a draw would have been a fair result, each side bossed one half each.

Cucurella is a revelation down the left. When Lamptey comes back down the right we are going to be so exciting to watch.
