Is this the VAR at the Euros that didn't even look at the Italy red cards in the final.

VAR at the Euros swung too far the other way in not getting involved enough in my opinion.

Yeah indeed. In every game I saw there was at least one incident where I didn't understand why that hadn't either reviewed an incident or advised the ref to take a look.

"Manchester United are close to a full agreement in principle on personal terms with the representatives of Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane."

Two good buys. Now Niguez or Rice and i'll be reasonably chipper about our prospects.

You don't even try to hide it anymore. You used to make more effort with your trolling.

Makes Ben White look a little bit overpriced at £50m...

Man U have done some decent business and still just over half a Neymar in price so it just proves yet again what a bonkers deal that was.

To be fair, White is British and United are getting Varane at a cut price because he's in the last year of his contract. If he was on a longer deal, he'd be comfortably past £50m.

I imagine United are paying Varane a lot more too.

Ben White is 23 and signed an extended contract with us last season. English tax will also have been included in the price, and his wages will be far cheaper.

Varane is 28 and has one year remaining.

Edit: FFS! I was halfway through this when I had to go and help my daughter with something and Tomous swoops in :x

Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane is near to joining Manchester United for an initial fee of around £34m.

Final details are still to be agreed - but Varane, 28, had told Real he had no wish to extend his current contract, which has a year to run.

The deal for Varane is likely to reach £42m with add-ons.

Buttons, that. Along with Sancho, what a pair of steals. Beats getting jipped out of daft amounts for Herman Munster/Harry Maguire.

What are you crying about this time? I can't talk about Liverpool, I can't make a joke about Manu... any other rules for me?

EDIT: I forgot not allowed to criticize England in any way despite several other people saying literally the same things but I'm Irish so it must be a troll.

I'm fairly excited by the signing of Bryan Gil for spurs. However I'm cautious that he may take a while to settle in. I hope we concentrate on defenders now with cristian romero our next target.

:toot: Indeed. Hoping this new Sporting Director knows his stuff! (I believe he has a good track record).
