He has been better this season. Wan bissaka hasn't. His positional play is poor and he's one dimensional going forward.

I think the fact they are working against Rangnick rather than with him is the problem (apparetly)

This all said, Klopp, Pep and Tuchel pretty much have 'their' teams, wether it be players they let go, kept and brought in. Manu will get this one day...

I think the fact that Rangnick is only there till the summer is a factor in his struggle with the players. That hints at the influence and say Ole allowed them to have. There are a few there who need a kick up the arse - Rashford being one and some that simply need shifting. I'm surprised (after the interest they showed in the summer) that they haven't challenged Newcastle for Trippier. Think Dalot has been decent but there's still question marks over his defensive acumen as there are over Bissaka's offensive one. 12 million for a significantly better player than either seemed a no brainer to me.

They need a proper hairdryer treatment from SAF or even Roy Keane. They are all earning a lot of money and most of them need to be kicking their arses!

Absolute joker refereeing Tunisia v Mali

86 min: What’s going on? Tunisian staff look bewildered as the referee appears to blow for full-time even though several minutes remain. No one quite nows what’s going on ... and then the ref signals for play to continue. What was that whistle for?

87 min: RED CARD! Another curious decision from the ref. El Bilal Touré is shown a straight red card for catching Bronn a teeny bit late, on the foot, near half-way. It was barely worth a yellow but the Zambian official decided to send him straight off.

88 min: The ref is advised to review his red card decision on the pitchside screen. He takes a look ... and concludes that he was right. No reprieve for El Bilal Touré. Mali must protect their lead with 10 men and who knows how long left.

90 min: The ref blows for full-time, with 89 minutes and 47 seconds gone, according to the clock on the TV screen. Tunisia’s manager and backroom staff stream on to the pitch to demand an explanation, pointing angrily at their watches. This has been a bizarre conclusion to the match. The ref and his assistants are surrounded by stewards for their protection and then ushered off the pitch. He’ll have some explaining to do later: his time-keeping seemed very odd and his red card decision excessively harsh. The penalty decisions, mind you, were reasonable: Mali scored from the spot and Tunisia missed, and that’s why the three points go to Mali.

This is a farce! CAF decided they were going to restart the game 20 minutes later to play out the final 3 minutes that weren't played, but Tunisia didn't return to the pitch so result stands.

It baffles me that this Salah contract isn’t sorted yet. Why we haven’t just given him what he wants is strawberry floating preposterous and shows FSG just aren’t really fussed about competing anymore. He is the best player in the world make a strawberry floating exception to whatever daft rules you have in place. We have barely refreshed the squad in 3 years, it’s not like we don’t have the money. When teams around us are spending like they are and have been there’s no real excuse for it.

problem is you sign Salah for what - 5 years? on 500k a year and then for 5 years you have people negotiating "well Salah is on 500k so i now should get 400k - it makes it untenable.
i understand but its very tricky.
FSG are waiting because they assume Salah wont get a better offer from somewhere else - its brinkmanship but i think Salah will eventually go with whatever theyre offering.

People say this but I'm not sure it really holds up. Unless the people negotiating our contracts are morons.

Which side are the other Liverpool fans on? Herb seems to be on the side of "give him what he wants" whereas Photek appears to disagree (correct me if I'm wrong).

One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

Money is starting to flow out of St. James' Park:

BBC News wrote:Newcastle United have signed New Zealand striker Chris Wood from Burnley for £25m.

The 30-year-old has agreed a contract at St James' Park until the end of the 2023-24 season.

Magpies boss Eddie Howe targeted attacking reinforcements after Callum Wilson was ruled out for eight weeks with a calf injury.

Wood is Newcastle's second signing this month following Kieran Trippier's arrival from Atletico Madrid.

It had been thought Burnley would not sell the player to a Premier League relegation rival, but Newcastle triggered the release clause in his Clarets contract.
