Luton can buy Maguire for £5m if they like.

I really doubt they will as the last time they spent big they got destroyed.
The new stadium won't be built for a few years and then they'll have some half decent money but for now it's just a matter of buying who we can sensibly afford.

If he pays us £5m and a negative wage of £250k a week we'd take him.

I hope he enjoys playing in the reserves.

He's getting on a bit, but I still think it would be cheating to have Spider-Man on a team.

I'll tell you why they will definitely spend the cash.

You're about to get a £170m windfall in cash.

If you want to get players to sign on the very non-insane wages you would want in case of a straight relegation, you will need to pay the £10m+ fee to get that player up front, rather than trying to sign free agents who will command much huger wage demands. You'd be far better off investing £50m getting sustainable players that you can write off easily if you lose your place in the Prem than trying to be a QPR, fishing around the free market and paying massive wages.

We could play rush goalie with him in the team  .

Well, one of us is going to be right so lets see how the next few months go and who they sign.
I'm betting we go for bargain basement types or golden oldies if they still exist as a thing these days.

It's going to be interesting to see what road they choose to go down.

Didn't Luton secure c£200m for winning the playoffs? I know that a portion of that will need to go toward stadium upgrades but there should be plenty to go around.

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

They did but they will be cautious in the market.
They don't have a huge income like other teams and don't have moneybags owners.

The money for the stadium had already been secured as they've been looking to move for decades because the ground they have now can't be expanded.
If my time playing Football Manager taught me anything it's that you can just look on the FM Forums and bag some outstanding bargains at low, low prices.

Or just try and buy all players named Borg to create an unstoppable winning machine.
That does mean we have to have a glowing green kit though.

Happy for West Ham/David Moyes (and Flynn Downes...), i was sure the game was going to extra time and penalties, then bam!

I know we have one:

Trying to buy bargain basement is difficult at that. Especially if you want Premier League experience.

Might be lucky but there's going to be a LOT of relegation clauses in contracts.

The sensible business decision for a club of Luton's size would be to take the cash and build the foundations of the club. But no fan wants their team to roll over even if it does benefit in the long run. I think it's a £100m investment in players if you aren't a team that's been in the top division recently.

I generally dislike West Ham, but I was pleased that they won the other night. Pleased for Moyes too. Shame about the scummy fans. Why do that :fp:

Can't say anything but a City win tonight.

The treble is an achievement fit for the quality of squad they have and the standard of football they play albeit, it'll be one with a big asterisk unless they're cleared of cheating over the past decade.
