You really think that was a punch?

No chance that was a punch

However I'm surprised Estupinian wasn't sent off for nearly killing Ben White yesterday

It was a very soft punch, but still definitely looked like a punch. Either way, they still need to VAR it, it it wasn’t a punch, then Yates should be getting a yellow for simulation. The amount of minor stuff they obsess over, then a potential punch (however light it was) just gets passed over, doesn’t feel right.

Yes, as did the commentary team and pretty much anyone with eyes.

I mean, whether you want to call it or a punch or not...he certainly strikes him. Not the most aggressive hit by any means but still an extremely stupid thing to do. Can't see why he did it either, looks like he was just being marked.

I would not have been at all surprised if VAR had gone the other way on that.

Really? They all said it was a punch and Madison should have been off? Apologies I may have missed that. Will give it a relisten.

Mental take! Football fans eh.

There's literally nothing wrong with saying Madison deliberately hit him. I don't know why you're being weird about it. :?

Because quite simply, it's not a punch?

Don't know why you feel the need to constantly reply to me. :simper:

Part of my issue with it, is these footballers will be role models to some young kids, who if they watched the match, just saw Maddison punch someone with no penalty for his behaviour, doesn’t show a great example really.

As I said before, if it wasn’t a punch, then Yates should be getting a yellow for simulation.

Has anyone else noticed the pushing, shoving, grabbing etc getting out of hand in the boxes at corners again. Seems like ages since if seen players penalised for this. Particularly in the United v Liverpool today it was glaringly obvious but all allowed to just go on. So many fouls.

This has prompted me to manually check the last time I replied to you in this thread and it appears to be about five months ago!

It's okay to assault someone on a football pitch as long as you "don't use your arm like a weapon..." - looks like a punch to me, but it got taken down while I was watching it.

With regards to Ben White, it's definitely the dark arts, but in one moment of minor shithousery he's got Estupinian to react. It's something and nothing, but VAR could've sent him off for that because he's raised his hands, and I don't think he'd have had any complaints because he's thrown a strike.

Come on now, no-one should be getting sent off for that!

Of course not, but he raises an arm and opens the can of worms, so he'd only have himself to blame if he did get sent off, just like Madison would have.

Absolutely no chance Estupinian should have been sent off for that.

I'd have booked both of them and left it at that to be honest.

Unbeaten against Liverpool this season is just the sort of consolation that will keep me warm next season on those long Thursday nights in Eastern Europe

Enjoy Baku away Preezy.

Dear Lord, what a sad little life Erik. You ruined my season completely so you could have the Europa League.

Everton deducted an additional 2 points for the second PSR charge.

Clearly the league's hope to not bother with further points deductions coming to fruition.

The Premier League is an utter mess this season. No-one really understands how it works.
