I don't agree on two seperate subscriptions to watch the Premier League but I also don't agree on holding Setanta solely to blame for it. They copied their business model off of the original football whorers, Sky.

Setantas output outside of football has improved a lot over the last few years anyways. Their UFC, GAA and F1 (for Irish subscribers), rugby and NASN offerings all help justify the fee. I would like to see someone get the rights to Serie A though.

I don't know about Jamie Redknapp, but Andy Gray is enough to make me leave the bar. Was happily in the pub watching the North-East derby at the weekend and was going to stay to watch Liverpool-Chelsea, but as soon as Gray showed up pre-match with his utter gibberish about how Chelsea were going to play, I had to leave... Fortunately, I got out before he started bumming Fat Frank....

Yeah after all Football is the national game, surely it would be fair that the general public could see the odd game or two!

Although Jamie Redknapp seems like a really nice guy, he is actually very stupid. Just listen to some of the crap he comes out with each week. It gets worse when he's talking about Spurs or Liverpool. I'm a spurs fan and even his biase to us gets on my nerves sometimes. He often seems to forget some rules, making u wonder how he actually played the game at top level. Plus he has a real inability to understood how a refs position will affect their decisions, forgetting that they aren't running around with a tv monitor strapped to themselves.

He's also shockingly anti-Arsenal, which makes sense considering his past clubs and also his family ties across London.

I did this by severing my real arms and replacing them with super-human cyborg arms.

I think channel 5 have Serie A occasionaly, or i remember they used to.

As for Arshavin, i can't wait to see him play, he is an exciting and talented player. Don't really care which team he signed for but i wanted to see him in the Prem (similar feeling towards Queresma (sp) as well).

The good old days it was on C4, I really do miss Gazzetta. James Richardson on a Saturday morning telling us all we ever needed to know about the Italian game. His classic sitting outside a Cafe going through the papers never got old.

Just looked it up, no one has the rights to it anymore.

The only people who hate Setanta are disgruntled Sky owners. Its a joke that we have to pay to watch our own league live on TV in the first place

Not really, plenty of people moan about picture loss.

Anyway...

I like Beckham again ;>

“I received offers from English teams and two other Italian sides, but I wanted Milan from the first moment I knew they were interested in me,” said Beckham. “Playing with Kaka, Ronaldinho and Pato is just too good to refuse – I think Kaka is the best in the world. I am trying to learn Italian and this will take time. I think it’s important to learn the language and integrate well. But I don’t think I will return to the Premier League because the only return I would have liked was Manchester United. I enjoyed 15 great years there and it would be the only team I would play for if I returned home. Manchester United are not one of the teams who contacted me though.”

Except before Setanta you didn't have all the football.

Setanta's games are what used to be on the old Prem Plus channel on Sky so you still would have had to pay to watch them.

It's such a stupid reason to hate a channel because you don't have it. What you should say is that you're envious of Setanta and the people who have it, cause you don't.

I can't stand the coverage, that and there hillarious bias towards always having one of the big 4 playing.

I'm pretty sure Setanta + Sky Sports costs more than the old Sky Sports + Prem Plus -if you bought the special offer Prem Plus "season ticket". I know overall Setanta has the better deal, but I'm only in it for the football. *something good about Setanta* Hmm ... Their Football Matters show is co-presented by James Richardson and isn't half bad.
