The Stanley Parable looks like a right laugh if the trailer is anything to go by

Was hoping to see something about what Rocksteady and Bluepoint are doing. Oh well.

I checked out at 4.00 last night and have just now finished watching the rest. Geoff does seem genuinely passionate about this event, which I always love to see.

That orchestrated Smash Bros Ultimate segment gave me goosebumps.

I look forward to Stanley Parable coming to Xbox, and MHTL attempting the achievements for it.

Credit to Geoff Keighley, I thought the show was pretty well done. It had its’ moments of cringe but for the most part, it ran fairly smoothly. Shame the 3 bosses of the big 3 didn’t use that moment on stage together to commit to cross play. Kinda felt like it was building up to that and would have been a great moment.

I guess if there is one big criticism, it’s that there is a lot of pandering to the AAAs but that’s how you pay for these things I guess.

I watched most of it this morning (fast forwarding through bits) but it seem like a good, well put together, show. All awards shows are long and boring but with this video game show it's made more interesting by the game reveals. Maybe more musical performances would have livened it up and A-list presenters. I was happy to see the reveal of a brand new big money franchise - The Outer Worlds.

Sony's Shawn Layden, Microsoft's Phil Spencer and Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime taking to the stage together was fun - and shocking that Keighley had been trying to get them together for 5 years, it makes you wonder what was problematic about setting this up?

Overall good work. Keighley has done so well by pushing himself and promoting the industry.

Phil and Reggie were probably up for it but Shawn refused to play with the other kids because he’s the best.

Damn, that was a lot more than I expected. Actually looking forward to quite a few of those games. Particularly The Outer Worlds; which is basically Obsidian beating Bethesda to Starfield. I would have liked another Obsidian Fallout but I'll happily take this instead. Journey to the Savage Planet also looks promising, although not much was shown.

What even is this

Didn't really think that much of the show this year, the pacing felt a little slow and some of the bits didn't land all that well. It's still very well produced and put together and I'm pleased it's growing, but as a show I thought it was significantly weaker than last year. That might be down to what was announced though.

As for the winners, it all went much as I predicted (surprised RDR2 didn't get visuals). Really happy GoW got the big prize, as though RDR had all the components it deservedly won for, it leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to actually being a game.

Is it as annoyingly twee as the trailer makes out?
