Fortnite character announced as a fighter for Smash, with Samus announced as a crossover character for Fortnite?

Joking aside really hope it's Crash Bandicoot, with a Crash 4 Switch port.

Hades has to win GOTY right?

I feel like it's the only game this year that knows exsct what it is and executed it perfectly.

I love LOU2, but if something like that wins I'm gonna be pretty sad.

For me, GOTY is either LOU2 or Streets of Rage 4.

I liked Hades. I thought it was awesome and it's probably in my top 5 even though I didn't get very far.

I wish this has been on this evening as I'm in the mood to watch it live. Midnight is too late though.

Animal Crossing is GOTY, in my opinion. It had a huge impact.

Ghost of Tsushima won the players voice award.

I'd probably go with Animal Crossing if only cos my daughter plays it daily. The Mario 3D collection and Ion Fury would be my favorites this year.

I play A LOT of GaaS so have no real stand out SP games to choose from but honestly, Immortals Fenyx Rising would be up there...

Smash is GARBAGE.

I know it's very unlikely to happen, but I feel like some LEGO Star Wars Skywalker Saga is going to appear. There were quite a few LEGO games on sale during Black Friday. I didn't see the Force Awakens game there. Guess what's appeared on the Game Awards sale on the Microsoft Store?

Midnight is not a time I'd stay up to watch this, but I'll be sure to catch up first thing to see what has been announced.

Here's the thing, Animal Crossing was mostly successful for circumstances outside the game itself, they added a few crafting elements and called it a day. There's still no actual point to having any of the items in the game, they do nothing, the game is still just about collecting dolls house furniture.

GOTY should be something people are going remember in the future, something that pushes games forward. SOR4 Didn't do that. You could argue LOU2 did (with its story) but given how divisive it was I'd say most people didn't give a gooseberry fool. Plus the game was far too bloated.

I hate rogue-like games, Hades is the first one I've actually enjoyed. Not only that but it basically uses every aspect of being a video game to its full advantage, the character development and story is adaptable and dynamic for example but still creates a bunch of cohesive interwoven relationships.

As much as I love AC and LOU2 they have some pretty big flaws, Hades just doesn't really unless it's not your type of game.

Disagree, Animal Crossing would have been massively successful without the pandemic. It had been a long time since New Leaf and throw in the Switch's success, it was always going to be a huge hit.

And that is just your opinion on what GOTY should be. For me, Animal Crossing had a huge impact and buzz about it and brought a lot of joy to people's lives at a difficult time. For me, that impact is GOTY material.

Starting at midnight is one thing but this thing will go on for FOUR HOURS! I might watch the start, go to bed and in the morning watch any new game trailers.
