Today, Nintendo announced that the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U will close their eShop at the end of March 2023. With this, The Pokémon Company has announced that Pokémon Bank will be free to use when that happens, though new downloads of Pokémon Bank and the associated Poké Transporter will no longer be possible. Within the VS option in the game, and into the Battle Stadium there's an Online Competition option. From time to time, various special competitions will run which have you use your Pokémon in battle against others. This runs akin to the Random Matchup mode and has you gain points based upon your defeat of other trainers, or lose points if you are defeated. They tend to last four days and are selectable in the Battle Competition part of the main menu, using Pokémon you need to register in your Battle Box.

A new feature added to this, is the inclusion of penalties for disconnecting. If you disconnect now from battle, you will have a loss recorded.


Shiny Galarian Articuno will be given to players who enter and battle in the 2022 International Challenge February. Registration runs from February 3rd to 17th with battles from February 18th to the 20th
Shiny Galarian Zapdos will be given to players who enter and battle in the 2022 International Challenge March. Registration runs from February 24th to March 10th with battles from March 11th - 13th
Shiny Galarian Moltres will be given to players who enter and battle in the 2022 International Challenge April. Registration runs from March 31st - April 14th with battles from April 15th - 17th

Today is the last day to register for the February tournament, and then the battles are over the weekend.

Small update has been put out for BDSP today as well, seen that it checks the legality of a Pokémon (whether it was cloned using one of the glitches or not) before its allowed to be traded, guess that might well mean they’re not allowed to be deposited into Home either?
