They put some great new Pokemon into the gen 8 games really, never used a Mr Rime myself, but it was good to see Mr Mine finally get an evolution.

So one thing I'm really finding weird in this game is I swear the route pokemon throw off what level I expect the gym to be. I'm at the Ice Gym now and all the pokemon outside are level 40-44 but until now all the gym Pokemon (just got the leader) are up to level 39. One stupid thing I did do was waste a load of time levelling up a scorbunny I got from Violet when someone here traded it to me after the raid (but rather than use the traded one I made 3 eggs for the living dex and levelled one fully) it's now level 33 but it seems to take forever to level up in this compared to Violet, maybe it's just the locations and pokemon I'm using. I mainly used Area 0 to spam level in Violet so I guess I was getting a lot more XP overall - getting like 2000xp per Pokemon or something. I find I'm getting about 400 or so per wild Pokemon so it's taking forever. The stupid thing is I forgot ice was weak to Steel and I already have 3 pokemon who know steel moves at a high level.

I think (except maybe 1 or 2 wild Pokémon), wild levels top out at 60, like in SV, the late game raids (or dynamic adventures in the second DLC) are by far the best way to level up as they give plenty of L and XL candies out.

I just beat the final gym in Shield and I've now levelled a Mime Jr up to the part I can actually use him in battle as the new form. I love the new Mr Mime and especially Mr Rime, they're so adorable. My love for Mr Mime continues to grow. Hopefully they add him in Violet in the DLC at some point so I can get him there.

So that classic TCG set they showed off back in February seems to have gone up for pre order at some point, even though I'm not into the TCG at all, I thought it looked like a really nice set, something neat to play (once or twice) and keep for nostalgic reasons kind of thing.

It's £400, not a chance is it worth that

They put it up without even announcing it as well. I think the issue is they completely understock it everywhere outside of Japan as well so it's almost impossible to get hold of.

On the TCG thing it's great to know they're releasing a product for the right people, rich content creators who make thousands off of Pokemon Card videos by selling it at a price only they'll ever be able to afford it and then they can make countless videos with said product and make their money back x10 or more.

There is so few franchise where they do literally seem to print money, I reckon nearly anything they'd put up for sale would sell, genuine Pikachu droppings? Out of stock in seconds Love the look of the Pikachu in hat canvas but doubt there will be a restock (doesn't sound like there will be one), or one that doesn't clear in seconds again and I refuse to keep scalpers in business by effectively buying brand new but second hand.

Its a shame about the Classic TCG set too, it looks like a really nice set, if it was available and reasonably priced it'd have been something I'd have been interested in, as it could just act as a bit of a standalone for the TCG side of things, no pressure to keep up with the constant waves of new cards, just a nice set to play every now and then. Can see only a relative handful of these ever being even opened, so many will just get stored away in a box

Edit, just searched TCG Classic on eBay and of course sets are being put up for £800 to £1200 for the handful I saw, worst thing is some people will pay for them

Happy to try and find a Turtonator for you Qikz, also to touch trade Zacian (can do both via Home if is easier for you?), I thought most trade evolutions you could encounter in the Wild Area in Sword/Shield?

Ended up breeding a Turtonator as the weather wasn't right in the wild area for it to spawn, got one now though, happy to do it in Sword/Shield or Home, whatever works easier for you.

Thanks to Robbo's help I got Zacian and the Sword turtle, then I booted up my copies of X and Y to get the trade evolutions for Spritzee and Slurpuff as I realised getting the evolution items in Shield was going to be a pain in the ass. My only pokemon left to complete the Pokedex in Shield now is to just evolve Type:Null!

That's kinda cool, but also looks really weird.

I hope they eventually add a way to get Diancee again outside of GO. I missed it in Gen 6 and GO is the only other place it's ever been available. Sucks :/

I've started and am enjoying Detective Pikachu Returns. It's pretty much more of the same and what I was expecting, which is good! Simple cosy gaming and my favourite side of pokemon - seeing them in everyday life. New Pokemon Snap is still the best version of that on Switch but that's more of a safari and seeing pokemon "in the wild" compared to Detective Pikachu's "living with people".
