My Pokemon Home Friend Code is CCJJWCDJHWET and I've got a load of mythical pokemon if anyone wants to borrow one temporarily for their Dex.

I’m sorely tempted but know in the long run I want at least one of various missing mythicals for my own dex rather than just logging them for now! Once I can get the ones from BDSP transferred (so I’m only adding entries for Jirachi and Phione) over I’m missing the following,

Shaymin
Darkrai
Arceus
Victini
Meloetta
Genesect
Volcanion
Marshadow

Hopefully I’ll be able to tick the first 3 off in Legends, just need confirmation we can catch Arceus in there (I assume we will be able to somehow). Really wish they’d done a mythical giveaway last year

Now that is tempting, is there anything you’d want for one your Victinis? I’m still kind of hoping we’ll get gen 5 remakes next with the mythicals added in and then maybe just gen 6/7 games released on the eshop, as from a pure power point of view there’s no reason why they couldn’t be released on the Switch, making the Switch almost the ultimate Pokémon machine

Edit, how does the Galarian shiny birds work? Do we know what the online event will entail?

Actually do you have a Goodra? I'm sure I had a Hydreigon somewhere.

I don’t have a spare one but can get one, do you need the whole evolution line or just Goodra?

Probably all of them but Goodra is the annoying evolve only in the rain bastard.

Nah, I'll just be happy to find anything shiny TBH

I've been going after Zygarde, Kyogre and Groudon and I'm pretty certain they are the hardest ones. They all have an attack that can hit the whole group and those are lethal. Zyarde then has a super powered form if you get him below 50% health but don't kill him. People save good paths so they make sure the right Pokemon are available, then write down strats, down to every move each player should make each turns. Sounds nuts, but after doing Zygarde a few times it will make sense why.

Anything other than these 3 should be fairly straight forward with the random runs.

No worries, just breeding 3 now and will need to evolve 2 of them, shouldn’t take long as I have plenty of exp candies. Can you trade Victini in Sword and Shield? Or will we need to add one another on Home to trade through there?

Thought this might be an interesting topic of conversation, but didn't think it was worthy of its own thread... so in here it goes:

Which are your favourite unevolved / not fully evolved Pokémon?

Convention somewhat dictates that teams include fully evolved 'mon, but that does exclude some great designs - some that are IMO better than their fully evolved counterparts.

I've always chosen Squirtle but I prefer his and Wartortle's designs to that of Blastoise. I'd say Wartortle's my fave.

Porygon > Porygon2 > PorygonZ What were they thinking? OG Porygon is clearly the best design.

Gengar is cool, but Haunter is more eerie and ethereal and... just downright ghostly.

I also much prefer Chansey's "classic" design. Blissey looks like one they rushed to get to 251.

Oh and lastly (and this one should be obvious IMO) Scyther is cooler than either of its evolutions.

Reading this back makes it seem like I just prefer Gen I designs. Er... Nosepass > Probopass; Piplup is better than its evos; Misdreavus > Mismagius.

However, I think it is an evolutionary line genius design. I love the idea that the upgrade gets a virus and goes beserk.

Other examples of middle stages and pre-evolutions I prefer: Vigoroth, Ivysaur, Cubchoo, Bunnelby, Meowth, Crabrawler, Poliwhirl, Woobat, Trubbish.

+ a LOT of the gen 4 evolutions: Lickitung, Magmar, Electabuzz, Rhydon, Togetic, Aipom, Magneton, Tangela.

Every single starter is best before they evolve. Can't think of any exceptions right now. Also off the top of my head:

Pikachu > Raichu
Psyduck > Golduck

It might actually be the case that almost all pokemon are best before evolving and those that aren't are the exception.

I think 'best middle evolution (not including babies)' is a harder question because there are a lot of cutie first stage Pokémon. Spheal and Dartrix make my top three overall though so it's an easy one for me!

I actually like Probopass. It's absolutely absurd in a good way.

Yeah last stage evolutions quite often end up being ok but not great. Like Meganium for example, Bayleef’s design is loads better but it’s not like Meganium is bad in my opinion. I am not a fan of lines that go from being a biped to a quadruped either, always found that a little odd really.

Metapod - all three work very well together though, Metapod just wins standalone more for the memorable gimmick than actual design.

Gloom is maybe better than Oddish/Vileplume.

Rhydon is definitely better than Rhyhorn or Rhyperior, but Rhyperior was added later so it feels like cheating if we're excluding babies.

Seadra is better than Horsea or Kingdra, which makes it my first definite only considering design answer.

Loudred is another.

Roselia.

Herdier might be my favourite of that line but they are all good boys.

I was wrong about starters, Pignite is the best of its line and is the middle evolution.

Gurdurr is on par with Timburr, both better than Conkeldurr.

Swadloon.

Krokorok.

Zweilous.

Floette.

Charjabug.

I really like Raboot, much more than Cinderace, but it still doesn't beat Scorbunny.

...and I think that's it, having been through this list.
