I'd rather see Harry Styles.

I've got spare tickets, but it's Manchester.

I'd rather see Ad7 clearing phone books out of his street.

Just look out your window every morning then

Saw Simple Minds in Birmingham last night. Had a VIP Soundcheck Experience ticket so was allowed in for a 45min rehearsal and Q&A session with the band from 4.30pm. In total around 300 fans there for that I'd say.

Really enjoyable experience which was like having them play for a private members club as they did 3 songs in full plus quite a bit of chat with the audience and taking questions on the fly.

Main concert was excellent. Got some great vids and photos as I was only a few rows back from the stage. 7th time I've seen them live and still as good as I remember

I know their keyboardist's son through a friend who used to work with him in our local Curry's. The guy wrote most of their songs(except, annoyingly for him, *that* one) and the family lives in a strawberry floating castle of a house in Strathblane. Which, assuming you don't know Stirlingshire, is a Very Nice Area.

Simple Minds  Saw them in Cardiff a few years back, it was brilliant. I've always seen those VIP ticket upgrades but assumed it was a rip off. Would you say it's worth it?

The Soundcheck Experience was £130 per ticket. That gets you a seat within the first 15 rows or so for the main event, plus the 45 min session with the band a few hours before and some 'free' merch. That consisted of a VIP pass, lanyard, embroidered logo baseball cap, fridge magnet (£13 to buy i think), a sticker (£1 if you buy from the stall), and a 10" square cardboard poster/pic. All in a cloth VIP bag.

Probably just about worth the money for the 45.min session and getting into the venue really early and also with the seat being guaranteed close to the stage.

They also sold an Ultimate VIP package for £250 which includes all of the above, but gteed front 2 or 3 rows, and a meet and greet with the band and a photo. However I did see on FB someone complaining that due to Covid, only Jim and Charlie were in the photo and sat on the edge of the stage whilst the fan stood a few feet in front. This also resulted in photographer only getting the fan or Jim and Charlie in focus with the other being blurry. Sounds as though that's a common experience unfortunately. That package doesn't sound to me as being worth it tbh.

Pretty steep, but if you love the band then it's totally worth it for the intimacy. If oasis ever reformed I'd be all over that, if only because it would narrow down who'd just thrown a pint of hot steaming piss all over my back.

Got tickets to see Markus King playing in Cardiff. It's the only UK date he's doing where he's not supporting greta van fleet, and for some reason it's in a pub of all places :datass:

Can't bloody wait :toot:

Yes!

My mum has a story that Jim Kerr once tried to pull her in a pub somewhere in Glasgow and she knocked him back because he had big ears. That was an unforced error on her part if ever I saw one.

Ha! That's some tale to tell.. presume that was before your mum and dad met? In which case you wouldn't exist though?

Years ago I worked with a woman who said she'd had 1 date with Chesney Hawkes before he had that big hit. Not quite the same levels I know but she regretted not being able to enjoy his success

She should get over it, she clearly wasn't his one and only.

If Tsushimamire postpone their gig in June, I'm filling my pockets with rocks and walking into the sea. :(

I didn't plan on going to a gig this year but a band that i last saw in 2019 is now touring well restarted the tour they were meant to do in 2020. They have a show this Saturday at the Royal Albert Hall and more tickets became available last week so I thought strawberry float it why not will be my 3rd time seeing them.

Yeah, they were good! Just a pity they don't play any of his songs any more :(

Quite a lot of Songs from Northern Britain. Hadn't heard Middle of the Road before...

Ah nice. I really like Planets from that album. In fact, the Songs From Northern Britain tour was the last time I saw them live haha. Showing my age.
