£25 to see McCartney. Wow!

Apparently all sold out though.

Frome gets Paul McCartney, Trowbridge gets George Ezra, and Warminster?

We get....

....The Military Wives!

Someone hold me back!

And Newport gets Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers.

Glastonbury related.

Annie Clarke looking hot as usual, bit unsure about the backing singers and arrangement of the songs though, can't properly hear her singing or guitar.

watching Billie Eilish all very meh nice light show and strobe lighting some ok music arrangements but very meh for me, fair play to her for being the youngest headliner at the festival.

Though is a shame they never invited back Taylor Swift for this year's Glastonbury due to her headliner slot being canceled due to the covid

Watched some Wet Leg, Dry Cleaning and Idles today. I'm not fully sold on the vocals in Dry Cleaning, but the guitar and bass are so good; they keep things interesting.

I’m watching Billie Eilish in UHD on iPlayer and this is the most extreme strobing I’ve ever seen. Finding it unwatchable, tbh. One of the rare instances 4K is actually a negative. Thankfully she’s now decided to get the guitar out and the chances of an epileptic fit have subsided.

I had to do a double take earlier as during Sam Fender on BBC2 there was someone in the crowd flying a FAKE TAXI flag.

She was, she was indeed. Except for the duets with the Indian?? girl with the really weak voice. She didn’t need that ‘support’, friend or not. But overall, yes, really good.

I'm biased being from Bristol, but I thought they smashed it.

Lovely little dedication to Big Jeff as well.

I realise non-Bristol people will have no idea who Big Jeff is. He's impossible to describe, just a big fuzzy ball of energy who livens up any gig he's at. And he's usually at most gigs. A truly wonderful human being and was sadly badly burned in a house fire recently.

I know of the legendary Big Jeff, but I hadn’t heard about the fire. Poor guy.

Looking at the performances on TV, i'd likely get rather pissed off if i was actually there in person, as it must be almost impossible to see the stage from most angles because of all the bloody flags!

Also, how impractical can people get?

"Oh hey look at me, i'm going to a music festival which requires practicality on site, so i'm gonna spend all evening holding the biggest strawberry floating flagpole i can possibly come up with"

Jeezus.

Can confirm that HellaMegaTour last night was indeed a great show. 4 bands on (Amyl & the Sniffers + the 3 big names) for a total of around 4.5 hours.

Cant say I though much of Amyl acoustically, but the lead singer bouncing around on stage without a bra on and a very skin tight top more than made up for her very angry singing. She kind of reminded me of an uglier Wendy James from Transvision Vamp (Google her if you don't know who she is  ) 6/10 visually, 4/10 musically.

Weezer were good and included covers of Metallica's Enter Sandman and Toto's Africa. Thought it was a little embarrassing for them that they got a bigger reaction for Enter Sandman than any of their preceding few songs of their own! Still, they sounded good and Buddy Holly rounded their set off in style. 7/10.

FallOutBoy really surprised me. They totally got the crowd going and played some absolute bangers. I enjoyed them a lot more than I expected to and were a definite highlight for me. The 2 young ladies to me left knew every word to every song and sang along beautifully too. Loads of others around me were seemingly big fans too. A definite 9.5/10 from me for their set.

Green Day were simply fantastic. Billy immediately got the crowd in the stands on their feet and there they stayed for the rest of the night. Loads of energy, sounded great. On 2 separate occasions Billy invited up a member of the audience on stage. The first was a young boy I'd say around 12-14yrs old who sang a little before stage diving back into the crowd, minus his shoes which he left on stage for some reason, as Billy encouraged the crowd to catch him and crowd surf him.
The 2nd kid up was a lad around late teens (later identified as Kai Ross Best - some Tik Tok celeb?) who played guitar and sang for a short while before embracing Billy and leaving stage WITH the guitar! According to his Twitter page, he got the guitar safely home after the show too. Lucky git.
Green Day were 10/10 btw.

tl;dr - 10/10 would definitely recommend

Off to see Rammstein tomorrow in Coventry

The one negative about Green Day is it's literally the same strawberry floating show they've been doing for the last ten years. No new songs (this is a good thing, mind), all the same theatrics. Same 'wayooo' all the way through the best songs. Any other band wouldn't get away with this gooseberry fool, but they really are a great live band.

The atmosphere for Weezer was poor with the stadium only half full. They're great at a proper show.

I’ve literally never been to a gig where this didn’t happen. What bands do people sit down to watch?
