I've seen them 3 times I think, all at festivals. They're really good, but I wouldn't go specifically to see them. I still think their first album is the best

Last band I saw was royal blood at the Newport leisure centre, it was strawberry floating brilliant. It's been 84 years.

Their first album is comfortably their best, there's barely a misstep on it. Every album after that tends to have a couple of great songs among a load of mediocrity. I actually think Brandon Flowers' solo album Flamingo is better than any Killers album after the first.

Having said that, I've seen them at a few festivals too and they were brilliant every time.

Rick Astley/Blossoms tickets sold out in like three minutes.

Probably just as well, I don't have the money for £40 a pop :slol:

£40 for a gig ticket is cheap these days isn't it?

Depends on the venue and artist really.

I would say £40 for Blossums alone would be on the expensive side, but obviously the novelty factor and limited dates has meant they can push the price up.

I don't think I've ever paid more than £25, but then I don't go to many gigs, and even then it's usually smaller venues for lesser-known artists.

I don't mean to say it's an unreasonable amount, I really just don't have the money.

You have to sign a form (can't remember what it's called) when performing covers live, which ensures the writer gets royalties, so it's not like the band won't get anything out of it.

I still think it's pretty disrespectful to hang out with him and whatever, and not mention this is happening at all

Obviously knew it wouldn't get his blessing.

Maybe they didn't know they were going to do it at that point?

I genuinely didn't know this. A quick Google suggests that even buskers have to pay royalties for covers.

Music rights are so strawberry floated up, man.

Anyone ever been to ArcTanGent Festival?

Mass of the Fermenting Dregs have announced that they're playing it next year, which is the first time (to my knowledge) they've ever played in the UK, but I've literally never heard of a single other band in the lineup.

Do I drive 150 miles to stand in a field/marsh all day for one band?

Got a few gigs lined up for next year now:

Spector (which was moved from November because the new album was delayed)
Kings of Leon at Resorts World next June
Brian Fallon from Gaslight Anthem fame at O2 Institute in May
Wildwood Kin in Bristol next Sept

Was disappointed to forget about the Foo's at Villa Park goin gon sale but I might keep my eye out for a ticket nearer the time as it's only 10-15minutes from me.

I've got a few gigs lined up and hoping to add Tool to this list from Friday as they tour in May

- The Offspring, supported by The Hives. Birmingham, Nov 2021
- Simple Minds, Birmingham, Apr 2022
- Green Day, Weezer, Fall Out Boy (HellaMegaTour), London, 24 June 2022
- Rammstein, Coventry, 26 June 2022
- Foo Fighters, Villa Park, 27 June 2022.

What a 4 day weekend that is going to be! :datass:
