I remember you missing their first UK gig because of your honeymoon or something, what was the excuse this time? :P

I know a few people went to see the Manics play The Holy Bible recently and I think a few missed out. Tonight the band are playing at Cardiff Castle and according to there facebook page "the entire concert will also be broadcast live on BBC2 Wales and BBC iPlayer." It's part of the BBC Music Day. The Manics should start around 8:45pm but the program starts at 9:30pm- http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05y19mh So I'm a little confused as to what is actually being shown but its a chance to see it again. :toot:

I did see the date but I told myself I couldn't afford it because of Download. Silly decision. :( Ah well, I'm confident I'll see them in my lifetime.

Incidentally, not long until Download now. I'm so hyped. 10 years since I've last been there and I've found a friend willing to queue for the Corey Taylor book signing with me. I'll probably end up so star struck that I just smile like a mental and don't say anything.

Just saw Muse at Downpour festival.

Probably one of the greatest headline shows I've ever seen. And I'm not just saying that as a fangirl!

Still annoyed that i've never seen Muse live. This is the first Download i've missed in years too so it's typical it'll be the one they played at. :(

Got Foo Fighters on Friday providing the gigs don't get cancelled thanks to Dave's broken leg.

Yeah they were amazing indeed. I feel so down being back home it's ridiculous. I can't be doing with work tomorrow.

My friend is one of those Musers that has been all over the world to see Muse, she said it was easily their best performance.

I thought they were alright when I saw them last at Rock Am Ring.

How was the weather? When we went in 2013 the weather was just appalling. Don't think we got a day where it didn't pish at some point.

For the record, as poor I find them nowadays I can't fault Muse's live credentials. Their Marlay Park 2008 gig still stands as one of my all time top ten gigs and although their headline set at TITP 2010 was quite poor, they were following Faithless who were strawberry floating incredible.

How were Slipknot, and did anyone go to see A or Three Days Grace?

I've got tickets to Friday as well, just awaiting some news on whether the gigs will go ahead or not.

I had tickets to see Fleetwood Mac last Friday who cancelled last minute so would be just my luck if Foo Fighters have to cancel as well :(

Whoa whoa, why did Fleetwood Mac cancel? Not even postponed until a later date?

Cancelled because of illness apparently. They cancelled their show last Tuesday but the reports said that their gig on Friday should go ahead, then I got a text and email Friday afternoon saying that the gig was cancelled and I would be refunded within 15 days. This is after I had already travelled up to Manchester and paid for the hotel etc. of course!

I hope that if Foo Fighters do have to cancel it will be rescheduled for some other time, I can't see them outright cancelling two sold out Wembley shows. Still will mean money for hotel etc. is wasted but at least will get to see them at some point.

Download weather was shite. Absolutely beautiful Wednesday and Thursday and I got really tanned/burnt. Then Friday evening had torrential rain for a few hours and then a constant rain all the way until Saturday evening. Sunday weather was alright and it wasn't bad enough to put me off going again although it did put me on a bit of a downer for part of the festival.

Slipknot were brilliant but I was drunk enough to mosh the gooseberry fool or of it so couldn't give a detailed report. I really wanted to watch them rather than mosh but their energy just takes me over. The atmosphere was incredible though and certainly better than the atmosphere you get seeing them in an arena.

Such poor form for a 'professional' band. Nearly bought tickets myself! Bullet dodged.

Sawyer, it may be worth forking out for some travel insurance if you can get one cheap enough with a small excess. If you was with the company I work for, you'd be covered for the travel and accommodation if the event you're going to gets cancelled. Our excess is £70 and you need to be over 50 to get a policy with us though. :shifty:

Was thinking about this earlier on. What are your all time top five gigs/band performances?

For me, in no particular order:

Metallica - Wembley Stadium - 8th July 2007
Rammstein - Sonisphere Festival - 31st July 2010
Rage Against the Machine - T In The Park - 12th July 2008
Iron Maiden - Twickenham - 5th July 2008
Blink 182 - SECC - 17th August 2010(Not for the band so much as the day on the whole)

Honourable mentions to Muse at Marlay Park 2008, Foo Fighters at Wembley 2008, Rammstein at Download 2013, Metallica at Sonisphere 2014, Anthrax at Sonisphere 2010, Arcade Fire at Edinburgh Castle 2011, Rush at SECC 2011, Mogwai at HMV Picturehouse 2011, Faith No More at Download 2009 and Edinburgh Corn Exchange 2009.

I've only been to two gigs all year so far. Pathetic scenes. :dread:

Metallica - Sonisphere Finland - 28/5/2014
Muse - Ulster Hall, Belfast - 16/3/2015
Biffy Clyro - Barrowlands, Glasgow - 5/12/2014
Guns N' Roses - LG Arena, Birmingham - 26/5/2012
Black Sabbath - O2 Academy, Birmingham - 19/5/2012

Limited it to one per artist, else it'd be five Muse and Metallicas. Amazed Iron Maiden aren't in there at the minute. Twickenham falls for us being up in the nosebleeds(!), Arenas fall for being in seats, Sonisphere 2014 falls for... I dunno, it just wasn't up there. But considering they were "my" band for years, them not making the list is pretty frigging big.
