Went to Slamdunk North on Sunday. Place was heaving, car parking was chaotic, massive queues for food and 20 minute wait for toilets. The urinals were overflowing and turned the area into a mud/piss bath. I started queueing for a burger towards the end of Less than Jake's set and got served about 40 minutes later, 2 songs into Bowling for Soup's set. No burger either, they'd run out.
People very disappointed on Twitter. It needs to go back to a 3 day event with Leeds, Birmingham and Hatfueld. Its outgrown the current setup.
Bands were great though.

...Many Taylor Swift fans are claiming to suffer from "post-concert amnesia" [and have] taken to social media in recent days to reveal their guilt at not being able to remember key moments from the Eras tour.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-65765368

Apart from the ridiculous mass hysteria of the main story, this was my big takeaway moment:
Gone are the days when musicians perform on an empty stage with just their microphones and an instrument. These days fans are treated to mind-blowing spectacles, with strobe lights, massive props and more costume changes than you can keep track of

All gigs are like that, apparently.

Taylor must be suffering from post-concert amnesia too since she hasn't announced any UK dates yet :x

Saw Pink last night in Bolton. Got on the barrier so could almost smell her at times.
The Script were brilliant, Gayle was just noise and way too loud.
Kidcutup was great at keeping things going.
Started queueing at 10am, got in at 4.30pm and show was 6 pm to 11pm. Non-stop.

I went to see James Bay at the Wolverhampton Civic Centre. Not really heard much of his stuff bar the big hits but my wife is a fan. Really nice venue with great acoustics and I was impressed by him, to be fair. His voice was excellent live and he had a great energy about his performance. I've listened to the songs again this morning and a lot of his stuff sounded much better live, they really sounded much better with the energy of a live performance and full band.

Gillespie and Innes sound like a vile pair of banana splits.

The Civic had a huge refurb over the past 5 years or do. Was my go-to venue for gigs before. Glad to see it's back looking better than ever.

Yeah they've done a really nice job, to be fair. Was a very nice venue to go to (if a bit of a chore to get to thanks to the pain that is the M6)

Went to Download on Thursday for my 1st time. Got a very good position by the barrier in line with the middle of the Apex stage and stayed there all day.

Saw Mammoth WVH, Jinjer, Halestorm, Alter Bridge and of course Metallica.

Roasting hot day. Blumin cold evening though.

Tallica were ace. Really enjoyed Mammoth too.

Off to see Springsteen on Friday, then Muse in MK on 25th

Taking the old man to see The War On Drugs in Brighton tonight. Should be a great show, but I'm also looking forward to seeing Beth Orton who is supporting. Her new album is fantastic. :)

Saw them last year and they were brilliant. Such a tight band.

Decent support in Beth Orton too!

3hrs non stop, no support act. 28 songs.50k-60k fans in rapture.

A true musical legend
