Saw Guns N' Roses last night.

First the complaints! There was a 2 hour delay letting people into the stadium, which meant one of the support acts was dropped. Saw Gary Clarke Jr, but the sound quality was dreadful. And the sound issues carried on, it got better as GnR went on, but the sound engineers should be ashamed of themselves.

But there were positives, the band was great, just seeing Slash and Duff cheered me up. Axl's voice wasn't anything like it was of course, but he was far better than I was expecting.

Tottenham's stadium is nice as well. Would be an awesome place to watch football. It might be a good place for concerts if they ever figure out how to balance the sound.

Was supposed to be seeing Foo Fighters tonight, but that's obviously not happening. We are going to see if we can find any local bands in pubs near where we are staying (Walthamstow). If not, we'll just get drunk with no tunes.

Twitter seems awash with unhappy GnR fans. Listened to some videos and the sound did indeed seem terrible. I know camera phones aren't the best but it did sound tinny for Welcome To The Jungle for example.

Axls voice also sounds really weak these days. I'm lucky enough to have been in the mosh pit at the Mk Bowl gig in June 93 which is one of the best gigs I've ever been to all these years later. Seen them since a couple of times on arena tours and his voice had clearly deteriorated then. But now he sounds truly bad

Suppose it happens but still, you don't want to hear him struggle to hit the notes he used to reach easily.

I wasn't in the mosh pit, but I was there in '93.

I didn't think his voice last night was too bad. It's clearly not even close to what it was, but for a 60 year old, it wasn't awful.

The rain. Oh god the rain! 4hrs non stop during The Cult and then GnR. My brand new white T-shirt I’d bought went grey due to wearing it on top of a black T-shirt.
What a day!

Think we went different days, I remember they had a gig the day after/before the one I went to. It was definitely dry when I went.

It was so long ago and I was quite young, other than GnR tunes, all I remember isSoul Asylum/The Cult and that Ronnie Wood turned up.

Had some annoyance with the accessibility of the stadium (can't walk around it to get to different gates, then the ambulant disabled section miles away from lifts/escalator), but the show was fantastic as is the norm with them. Worth the wait.

Hopefully they'll tour again in a few years so can take the soon-to-be kid before they retire.

I got offered a half-price Sunday ticket and considered it an insult that anyone could think I'd enjoy that festering shit-tip of a line up. The organiser was on local radio yesterday saying that TRNSMT is now established as one of the premier world music festivals and I involuntarily burst out laughing.

A lot of people have a hard-on for The Snuts.
I'm not seeing the attraction.
That bill for TRNSMT is shite.

The two best bands there playing at the same time. :fp:

I think it might be a staggered stage list, if that makes sense, where the headliners of the second stage are on before the headliners of the first. Assuming you mean Jimmy Eat World and Strokes?

Ah, that might be doable then. It's still a shocking line-up, I was struggling to pick a path through Glastonbury but this would barely be worth leaving your tent for.

Mercifully there's no camping at this one, it's in a city centre park. I think organisers are having some difficulties getting big acts from the United States over here this summer - a lot of the biggest ones seem to want to do their own mini-festivals or tour the States at the moment.

I quite like The Regrettes, but that's about it. :shifty:

On today's episode of "Chocolate-Milk Can't Be Trusted With Money", I bought Saturday tickets to ArcTanGent festival this weekend off the back of one act.

7 hour round trip, here we come! :slol:

Rather annoyingly, Thank You Scientist seem to have been dropped from the schedule at ArcTanGent with absolutely no fanfare. Their website still shows them in the Saturday lineup, but they've disappeared from all the recent promo stuff and they're not on the timetable.

They're not who I was going for, but as the only other band I've heard of, a bit of bloody notice would have been nice. :x

People on Twitter seem to be complaining that Ticketmaster/Wembley are cancelling the tickets for Foo Fighters in a couple of weeks due to ‘booking irregularities’
