Perhaps it would be less tragic if we re-used the remains of the horse. I'm sure Synchronized steaks would fetch a good price on the open market.

I do not have an issue with the racing, just wish there was a way they didn't have to be shot because they break a leg. I had money on 1st and 3rd in the National.
I had money at Cheltenham, horses died...it happens, I am sorry I don't like that side of it.

Its fine, but there is NO other solution - its not like you can put a horse in a wheelchair. Any animal with long limbs like that who breaks a leg is sadly unsustainable, the kindest thing to do IS to put it down, however awful that sounds.

Doesn't that suggest they shouldn't be doing something like steeplechase racing in the first place?

Oh, I see!
Now you've put that point across, I'll stop thinking about the animals who pointlessly died on Sunday (and every other day before that).MCN wrote:And you're a miserable twat, but you don't see us complaining.
Because he cares about animal welfare? Or are you saying that about the rest of qupe's post history (which I'm not familiar with!)?

I would say that those who train horses love them too, and have their best interests at heart too. This is not a black and white situation like fox hunting or bullfighting.
