It was alright. In no way is it worth a prime membership on its own though.

Yeah it was good but had issues, I think because they are trying to appeal to the the Americans at Amazon, hopefully they will shift back to more "them"

It was basically about those three cars which makes sense as they never got to do them before but they didn't really do those three well in my opinion, had they done a raid trip or something it would have been cool but I guess they had limitations groom Ferrari, Porsche and McLaren.

Their track looks a bit gooseberry fool too.

Really enjoyed that. I'd give it a 7/10 as the testing of the supercars didn't really work. I think it's going to improve a lot as the series goes on but this was a strong start and that opening was epic.

I think Top Gear had gone as far as it could on the BBC budget, I was sceptical that a massive budget would fit the style of the show but it really seemed to work well. Wish I could have seen this in 4K as the cars would have looked even better. Only downside is Clarkson's fat gut and Hammonds wrinkly face and weird facial hair!

It is basically Top Gear with a huge budget though. And that's not a bad thing.

Exactly right. Some cringe moments, but Top Gear always had those.

Why on earth would you watch Top Gear over this?
GT is the same thing, with a new lick of paint and a huge budget. Plus better presenters.

Them getting "out and about" is the reason I stopped watching Top Gear, over scripted nonsense.

This show, or Top Gear, isn't really for you then. It's a comedy show, using cars as the narrative.
And most good comedy shows, are scripted.

Them pretending it's not scripted is what I really don't like.

I don't think they pretend it isn't scripted at all, what are they meant to do go omg look at that roll we made happen, is funny because it looks like it happens even if you know it is scripted.

Just cheer up stop moaning and enjoy the show for what it is which is a laugh.

strawberry float sakes it is the Top Gear bullshit all over again.

If you don't like them doing funny things because they dare script funny stuff don't watch it, if you watch it then accept it is scripted and just enjoy the entertainment.

Agreed with this. I mean, of course, it's all scripted, but what the hell it's even better than all bullshit TV soaps like Coronation Street, EastEnders and so go on! It was so joy to watch, Jezza and the co. has made my day while watching it. Now, I am looking forward to see the rest of eleven episodes during Christmas. 8-)

I don't think it is unreasonable to wish it appeared less scripted. What annoyed me most about TG was obvious things happening that the presenters pretended they didn't know about, the use of registration plates and other text that made swear words (that Clarkson needs to point out, further insulting the viewer's intelligence) and plans/designs that always seem to take the shape of a cock. You've done those jokes to death, move on.

This. Top Gear was reinvented in 2002, after 14 years people still haven't worked out the formula?

They are stupid lad's and knob jokes is what makes it popular to the masses, accept it and move on. Please please don't turn this thread into the same crap we had in the top gear thread after every bloody episode.

So only comment if you like it? Another repetitive joke "some poo came out". Only been used in almost every TG episode.

I've just watched the first episode now and it was OK, but clearly not worth what it cost.

Of course people should comment if they didn't like it. What's tiresome is when people moan about the content and humour, despite them doing that for the last 14 years.

If you don't like "some poo came out" jokes, why are you watching? It's like watching Planet Earth II and moaning that Attenborough is showing footage of animals, what did you expect?

No, it's a comedy show that includes cars. Has been for years.

I wasn't overlay impressed by the first episode, it seemed like there was a lot of filler to bulk it out to a hour, the new test track is terrible and the comedy aspect seemed to be a lot more forced than it was on Top Gear.

Top Gear is that now. And almost everybody hated it.

So you like the same jokes continually? My hope is that someone gets a new joke book for Christmas.

I like the parts where they were in cars but the rest was pretty awful. I skipped past most of the studio segments.

So you keep watching a show that keeps making jokes that bore you?

The 2 seconds it takes for Clarkson or Hammond to say "arghh some poo came out" doesn't bother me, no.

Top Gear's always been scripted but the last 5 or 6 seasons have made that far too apparent through comparatively sub-par writing and repetitive mishaps.
