I'm halfway through episode 2 and it's bloody awful.
It's just a constant stream of anti Columbia comments and jokes about Clarkson being gay.

Watched the two parter last night. 1st episode was weak but the second more than made up for it. Was giggling silly when Clarkson and May had a proper hissy fit then Clarkson drove into the back of Hammond.

Didn't find it anti-Colombia, they seemed totally enamoured with the place by the end. The gay and political stuff is just white noise.

The Special Trip at Colombia wasn’t the best from them as I felt the task challenge was a bit boring if I’m being honest. Apart from this, it is still got some good bits and Colombia looks like a beautiful country.

Yep it's shite. And LOL IT GAY M8 jokes in this day and age :fp:

I wish there was a feature to edit out every bit of Hammond in these, he's absolutely strawberry floating insufferable. His constant grunting, lip smacking and "KAHHH, UM, AHH, YEAH, PMEEEHH" noises whenever he does anything :dread:

Yeah I enjoyed it, the series as a whole has been decent as well. And Mongolia is strawberry floating stunning.

The worst bits are those in the tent, they should just do films of them arsing about around the world.

Yeah it was good, I suspect the tent might get killed off soon, they tweeted a while back saying “anyone want to buy a tent” so it may go.

Think they'd already confirmed that after this season there'd be no more tent segments. Which is probably why some episodes have it barely featured.

I didn’t think the Mongolia episode was that special but on the whole a really good series, especially the Colombia 2 parter.

The problem with Mongolia ‘survival’ style specials is because you’re driving through basically nothingness and it’s very hard to make it entertaining. The survivally bits of it you know are faked, 1 long episode isn’t enough to show what it’s actually like and there’s nothing to break up the driving through wilderness. It was still an interesting episode but I think they’ve done these type of specials better in the past (Polar special being the best).

Clarkson has been tweeting about it saying how it wasn't scripted, they had that map and that was it.

Apparently the driving was cool as most of the greenery was herbs so it smelled awesome the whole time.

Clearly they had that map but it’s not what they were using for directions.

They had a compass and new which was always north on the map so that would have done it.

Sure, and in a country the size of Wester Europe they were able to find the house and the teepee.

I get to them at least, because I leave the house armed with more than a child’s drawing of a house and instructions to go north east.

I liked the episode I just don’t know why they needed to pretend there were other obstacles to them doing it when the task itself was interesting enough.

So they’re stopping? But not.

That was a really weird episode. The look back at old Fords was vaguely interesting but the stupid mourning the ending of Mondeo production was just baffling. Who honestly gives a gooseberry fool.

Then the announcement they’re ending the show and looking back over the last 16 years, Clarkson bursting into tears even. That was quite sad as it’s been great and this on the whole has been a very good season to go out on. But they’re not actually stopping, they’re just not going to have a tent an audience or a track anymore. It was just a really strange way to do the announcement as I’m not sure if I care about the studio bits going. That said if it is just specials it will be a shame to lose lots of the other stuff, but I don’t really know what we will keep getting and what we won’t.

I must admit when I thought they were stopping for good I wasn’t surprised because looking at the state of Ckarkson this season you wonder how many years he’s got left in him.
