 Loving the enthusiasm guys. Great picture Lewis!

Creeping beside the bushes they advanced around the side of the mountain. They could hear two dozen guards camping it out nearby.
"This is suicide!" Lewis said, slighty nervous.
Roonmastor laughed. "If we do not kill them now they will only get in our way."
"Then I say we fight them! All the way to the top! Whats the matter? Want to live forever?!" Lewis growled clutching his two handed sword.

Twenty men stand between you and the castle. Plan your course of action, remember you have the element of suprise, and Raze has a wrist mounted crossbow. There is no limit on how many you are allowed to kill, but the more soldiers you kill the more likely you are to get killed...

I suggest our first move is for me to sneak around taking out the sentries silently, anyone who could raise the alarm should be dispatched from a distance... so we''ll have even more time before they spot us.

My other plan is to somehow lure them all into a barn then set it on fire...

Perhaps a better plan would be a combination of both..

Take up a sniping position within a barn and start taking out guards silently.
When they come to investigate, slip out the back and fire a flaming bolt into the barn to kill them all.

I'm willing to do a bit of sleuthing. If Raze can offer me some covering fire I can stake out the area and see the best potential route. If someone could chuck me a shield for some protection it would be much appreciated.

That is an idea. May I also suggest the idea of bait to lure them away from the path?

We took out twelve soldiers earlier simply by surprise and through total aggression. That is two each. I say we could take fifteen without too much difficulty (3 each), plus what ever Raze can take out from his lofty position.

The Plan:

Raze will swiftly and silently scale a nearby tree, a few trees deep into the forest. He will use his position to scan the enemy camp for men, locations, preparedness for battle. He will then sign back to the group, who are deeper into the forest but still within sight of Raze, all this information. Raze will then off the sentries on the near side of the camp silently with his crossbow. Then:

A)Then we can await more men to come looking for the missing sentries. The bodies will have been dragged away by Sykes and Roonmastor if there is fair opportunity. LewisD, Banjo and Jango will be keeping their eyes on the ground in case someone heads towards them through the forest. Raze will then pick the new sentries men off with his crossbow. We will continue to do this method until enough men come mobilize from the camp for it to no longer be feasible.

At this point, Raze will concentrate his focus on persons risking his own safety, persons risking his fellow knight's safety, enemy knights in general in that order. He will begin doing this on the bulk of the enemies advance before they close up on our men. Everyone else will then fight their own fights. Raze may decide to jump down to fight on foot.

B)Banjo will drag one body into the forest and change into the King's knight's garb. Any additional bodies will be dragged to secrecy by Roonmastor. Banjo will then use his disguise to infiltrate the enemy camp for information. He can then return to us on his next sentry shift with information we may be able to use.

C) As B up until Banjo reaches the camp. Raze then begins to pick off sentries/enemies a la Plan A. When the bulk of men come our way, Banjo can take them from behind (no homo) whilst the rest of us fight them from the front.

D) As B up until Banjo reaches the camp. Raze will continue to take out subsequent sentries until we are all able to infiltrate the camp, bar Raze. Raze will then take up a new position closer to the camp to begin stealthily taking out enemy forces. The Camp's defences from Raze's point of attack will be down as all the sentries will be made up of our men. Camp goes looking for Raze, our men backstab some enemy knights with relative ease, and then fight our way back to Raze.

E) Any other plan or alteration to an above plan.

I vote B. We can't afford to take any chances with this opportunity, plus it's likely that we're quite fatigued from the previous battle. If anything the only person who's at risk with this plan is me and I'm willing to make the sacrifice if it will keep the majority of us safe from death.

Or, perhaps though we could get more than one suit of armour and then we could all sneak through undetected.

Liking the plans Roonmaster, especially A. With Raze's sniping ability and our faith in God we shall be victorious in our quest.

I agree with this plan.
Sir LewisD is no sneak! I'd rather face them head on than cower behind their backs!

I'd like to vote A also. I think we can save the Banjo infiltration plan for another day.

I'm with A, but I suggest we use my sentry-dispatching skills to lure a sizeable amount of men to the entrance, where they'll hit a choke point. Then Lewis and another knight (someone good at melee) head on in first, barrelling their way through them and the rest of you then pick off anyone Lewis/partner bypasses. I'll use the nearby trees and walls for cover and, as Roonmastor said, focus on providing covering fire (mainly for Lewis/partner) since they'll be heading the assault.

You also need to keep an eye out for archers inside, and alert me if it looks like they've spotted me. I suggest someone yells an obscenity.

Some great plans guys. Here is a hint.

Not everyone has to make it up to the castle. Anyone left behind can rejoin the group after. The ones left behind will not be able to take any treasure, but they will also be guaranteed to be alive at the end of it.

Don't listen to him, he wants to split us up to make us weaker in the face of the enemy. Remember:

The others will likely agree with you there Roonmastor. Next chapter. :)

Using stealth and cunning, Roonmastor and Sir Sykes hid in the foilage near the camp.
Raze carefully climbed up a tree, just out of view that gave him a good view of the camp.
The others hid in the forest further back, in case something went wrong they could ambush the soldiers.

Raze sat in the tree aiming carefully at the two soldiers closest. He shot two bolts, one into each head. They slumped, he thought he had messed up but a moment passed and nobody spotted the bodies lying in the open. He gave the signal to Sir Sykes and Roonmastor who snuck to the corpses and dragged them away.
Banjo, LewisD and Luis Valois hid in the trees keeping an eye on the camp, making sure no one strayed too close.

An hour passed and Raze had picked off three more soldiers. 5 down. This was going to take a long time, and sooner or later they would realise something was wrong.

It was then that Raze found a serious hole in their plan. The bloodstains on the grass. He would have to quickly take anyone out who ventured over there to investigate.

Another hour passed and four more had been dropped. The alarm was suddenly set, they had realised many of them were missing and they were now on active patrol. Raze sat frozen in the tree.

The group of nine guards stood over the bloody grass and scattered as bolts from Raze's crossbow flew into them taking down two. LewisD charged with his sword and struck down two in one swing, then one more on the back swing. Louis Valois also struck down two with the sword handed to him by the king. Two more remained but they began to run.

One hit the ground as a powerful bolt struck him in the back, the other managed to reach the safety of the forest.

The camp was now clear. Raze jumped down from the tree and they cautiously began to walk up the winding rocky path.

Twenty minutes later they reached the top. The gates to the castle were ajar but it was deatly quiet. They could see no guards on patrol on the walls. They crept through the large wooden portcullis and scanned the courtyard within. It was empty.

They walked towards the main tower and could hear a faint chanting. Inside the tower was dark, but they found some winding stairs leading down beneath the foundations of the castle. The chanting grew louder.

They emerged in a large room, far below was some kind of procession. Young men and women were walking the legnth of the room carrying magnificent golden objects. In the middle of the room was a long table covered in exotic foods, a grand meal. About one hundred old men sat at this dining table, watching the procession.
The five knights eyed up the food on the table, except for Lewis who had his eyes on the procession of girls and gold.
One man emerged from an ajoining room carrying a bleeding lance, then two young boys with candelabras (decorative candlesticks)
Finally, a beautiful young girl emerged holding a large golden grail, elaboratley decorated. Within the grail was a large communion wafer.

Outside the castle, a force of troops gathered by the gates. Two golden knights on horseback led the way into the castle courtyard followed by three ghostly Dreadmorts.

The ceremony was about to begin. It was building up to something.

A- Watch the ceremony.
B- Attack, steal as much as you can and escape quickly.
C- Other (Make up a plan.)

I read it as the King's men ran. Raze shot one down but the other got away.
