Welcome to the GRcade Game of the Year Awards 2009 voting thread!
Please take a few moments to read through the rules before submitting your votes.
THE RULES
1. Please copy and paste the Voting Form (found below) and enter your votes next to each award category. You can either submit your votes publicly in this thread, or you can send them privately to me via PM if you prefer.
2. You are permitted one vote in each award category. If you provide more than one vote in any category, only the first choice listed will count.
3. Vote for games released during 2009. Wikipedia has a few pages dedicated to 2009 in gaming, which may be of some use to those of you with bad memories:

4. Feel free to vote for imported games released during 2008 in the US or Japan.
5. There are quite a few award categories (34 in total), but it is not required of you to cast a vote in all of them. Vote in as many categories as you wish.
6. If you want to provide reasons for your choices, please go ahead. This is entirely optional, but it can make for more interesting reading, and I'll be including as many as I can when the awards take place
7. Voting ends on the Friday 8th of January 2010. You can go back and edit your votes at any stage prior to this deadline, but as of the end of the 8th of January your votes are final. The votes will be counted and the results will be posted a few days after the voting has ended. We’ll be having a special live awards show, whereby I shall announce the winners, before sticking them all in an OP somewhere.

Overall Game of the Year: your favourite game released in 2009.
Best Action/Adventure Game: your favourite action/adventure game released in 2009.
Best Fighter: your favourite game from the fighting genre released in 2009.
Best Platformer: your favourite platformer released in 2009.
Best Puzzle Game: your favourite puzzle game released in 2009.
Best Racing Game: your favourite racer released in 2009.
Best RPG: your favourite RPG released in 2009.
Best Rythym/Music Game: your favourite rythm/music game released in 2009.
Best Shooter: your favourite shooter released in 2009.
Best Sports Game: your favourite sports game released in 2009.
Best Strategy Game: your favourite strategy game released in 2009.
The Oddball Award: an award for games that doesn't fit into any of the genres listed above. Vote for your favourite oddity here.
Import Game of the Year: your favourite game released beyond these shores in 2009, one that had to be imported to be played.
Best New Downloadable Game: an award for the best download-only game released in 2009 on Wiiware, XBLA, PSN etc. You can vote for full remakes or games re-released with significant updates/changes, but please exclude straight emulated ports of older games.
Best Downloadable Content: name your favourite bit of DLC released in 2009 (do not vote for full downloadable games).
The Innovation Award: vote for what you feel was the most innovative piece of hardware or software released in 2009.
Best Visuals: the game you think had the best graphics in 2009 (technically, artistically, or both).
Best Audio: vote for the 2009 game that impressed you most in terms of sound (music, effects, voice acting for example).
Best Multiplayer: vote for the 2009 game that provided you with the best multiplayer experience online, offline, or both. Can be cooperative multiplayer.
Developer of the Year: name the game development studio who you think deserves the most recognition for their work in 2009.
Publisher of the Year: vote for the publisher that impressed you most in 2009.
Hardware Platform of the Year: vote for your favourite hardware platform of 2009 here (Xbox 360, DS, PC etc).
Games Magazine of the Year: your favourite gaming rag of 2009.
Games Website of the Year: your favourite games related website/forum in 2009.
Games Podcast of the Year: the best games related podcast recorded in 2009.
Top Gaming News Story of 2009: vote for what you think was the biggest or most interesting gaming news story that broke in 2009.
