The latter. Designing a tree like pokemon when there is already a tree like pokemon won't get you kicked out as long as its different enough and new. Designing 'Mewfour' would.

I don't like the task, although that's probably more to do with my complete lack of drawing ability than anything you did.

I'm going to try and override my poor drawing ability by focusing on the Pokemon, it's theme and attacks.

Oh wow. This task should be interesting!

I will stress this whole task and voting period that the ideas and design of the pokemon are more important then the drawing itself. If someone producesa super slick drawing of a boring pokemon, I hope a crappy drawing of a well thought out and creative pokemon that fits in the game would beat it - but we shall see.

I'm not a fan of the task, mainly because I have zero interest in Pokemon and I can't draw :lol:

Im basing mine on a theme but using ref images of real animals. My freehand animal drawing skills are very not good.

I've doodled almost 3 A4 sides already! :lol:

I have however thought of a potentially excellent idea that if done well, could turn out awesome. Don't want to give anything away even though I'm dying to let it slip.

Just throwing everything at the wall and seeing what sticks right now. While I have all these hundreds of ideas, I'm just doing crappy, quick doodles of it all to look at again tomorrow with a clear head. Just going to head over to Google now as well to collect as many reference photos as I can for the idea I currently have floating around.

I have one sketch at the minute that I'm liking the look of but it might be too much like an already existing Pokemon. An unfortunate accident.

When you say... draw... do you mean... say..a 3D render? That's a kind of computer drawing, right?

Because if so, someone needs to grab a game engine and knock up a quick prototype with their design. Go on, you know you want to.

Also it is worth noting that this is the first Games Guru in a LONG time that doesn't feature Drumstick.

I can't believe there's a rule forbidding me from using my favourite game in any of the tasks. Nobody may have known what it was but I had the best board game design and theme last year and it got me through the tasks.

I think its great that you are passionate about something, and I am no hater of anime, but I want to see something new from you this year. I would say the same to anyone else who used a repetitive theme. You have plenty of other passions, I don't mind seeing them - but I wanna see you operate outside your comfort zone a touch.
