Oh yeah! Just had a good idea regarding one mechanic come into my head. Think that's a perfect balance! :mrgreen:

Gonna start by drawing this all up tonight. Don't want to get to confused in my words trying to describe everything tiny detail of what it looks like. Think it'll help a lot if people can actually see it, as if they have the board game in front of them. So yeah, definitely gonna draw diagrams and stuff. Oh yeah, I can't wait.

I'm just really excited to see what everyone thinks, even if I don't go through. This is what tasks are all about! Fun fun fun!

That's all I did today at work. Think about this. I've come home with tonnes of post it notes covered in ideas. Every time I thought of something I liked, I'd quickly pull out a post it and make a note. :lol:

Explained the game to my mum as well and she understood it so that's an amazing sign that I've not over complicated things. It's also a game I really want to play myself.

Wish someone really would make it now.

I've done a plan of how I'm going to write everything so I'm going to aim to get everything written up tonight. Then I'll get some pictures done before Sunday.

Thought of an idea just as I was falling to sleep in bed last night. I fear it's too simple and obvious though. And that someone else is doing the same thing...

Now I need to work out how to get my thoughts into words and images.

This is really hard. I'm finding it difficult to get my idea into words. I'm hoping once I've got the first draft all written out I can start to tidy it up and make things neater and clearer. If not, I truly hope others will see the shining light of a brilliant idea that I can also see amongst my horrid, mangled scribble of text. :lol:

I'll try and keep it as short as I can but it's tough. Lots of rules!

I'm in the mind that "Lots of rules" = "over-complicated tosh".

A boardgame should be simple but fun.... I hope the voting judges agree...

I wouldn't argue with you there. It's a funny one. There aren't a "huge" amount of rules really, but there are many "variables".

This is definitely a game I could play very easily after one or two games. It's the kind of thing you would probably have to refer to the rules a couple of times when learning but once you've had a few games, it'd come so naturally.

Like I say, I explained it to my mum earlier and she understood it perfectly so it's definitely not too complicated. I think the main problem is my writing. I think I get too excited about things and then have trouble focusing my mind into explaining things concisely. But I'm going to proof read it multiple times to try and get everything as clear as possible.

It's definitely not over-complicated. No way. I know we're all bound to say it about our own ideas but I genuinely would love to play my game. I think it'd be an absolute hoot. I love it so much and I really hope at least one person on this forum shares my enthusiasm for my game.

I can't wait to see everyone's entries. I know we're all going to strawberry floating excel at this task and the competition is going to be hella tough but that what's makes it so great. Just see everyone pour everything into their idea to make it the best. :wub:

Finally!

First draft complete! Woo! Yeah! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... feels good.

Plan of action now is:

Tomorrow - Sort out all the pictures I need as I have several I need to compile. After this has been done and I have a fresh head, I will proof read my first draft making any adjustments I need to.

Saturday - I will proof read my piece a second time. If I need to make adjustments I will. Depending on how I feel about my piece on Saturday, I may submit or I may continue to tidy it up. Time will tell.

For now though, I'm going to have a well deserved rest and play some games! Phew, I've worked so hard tonight. So hard. :mrgreen:

I've had no time to write anything down yet so it'll be done tommorow.

I have all the ideas, now to just make them work with each other.

Interesting... I'd have thought the optimal way to progress your idea would be to do the pictures first.

But people work best in different ways.

All I've done so far is draw a rough picture of... something... :shifty:
