As most people are adding Wordle, it would be rude not to.

Audacious but I will allow it.

By the way, anyone who gets someone else on GRcade to join the GRcade Gaming Alphabet will earn 1 Alpha point for referring them. Spread the word!

I've now got a list covering all but four letters of this and it's really weird seeing my immediate gaming future laid out in front of me...

I've got a shopping trip planned this week and I might just fill the gaps with whatever I can find in CEX or Game, in a sort of Toy Story-esque give forgotten games a second chance way.

Regarding completion of games. I've got a couple of sports titles I'm planning on playing. As far as I'm concerned, if I go through a season and win the Superbowl/NBA playoffs/CL/World Title I will have achieved the highest accolades in the sport, so the "story mode", to all intents and purposes, is done. Playing through again with a different team is essentially playing an RPG as a different class.

With Wordle, if you lose your streak you will have experienced every outcome the game can throw at you, so what else is there to do other than start again? Alternatively if you get to NYE with the same streak then I think you've earned a completion!

Thoughts?

For Wordle I'd say getting a streak of more than 20, and getting three or more 2s, is "complete". It's going to tail off in the next few months anyway - sooner if NYT paywall it.

Saying you've completed a sports game once you've come first in the league in the single player mode (or won the tournament or whatever) is fair enough.

Very suspicious of these made-up rules for Wordle though. I think occasionally you might just have to accept that a game doesn't really have a completion condition, and Wordle is one of those games. It goes on forever without any kind of natural stopping point by design.

EDIT: IMO, anyone bolding Wordle needs to close their eyes and imagine themselves saying the words "Yes, I've finished Wordle, I completed it" to a colleague in the office. Then once the embarrassment has washed over them they need to unbold it.

1 game of wordle is guessing a five letter word in six attempts or less. If you have done this correctly even on a single day, you have completed it. Attempting a streak is simply replaying it, and because each day is a different word, and you start fresh all over again, that also means this qualifies for the roguelike genre.

Sorry, it's not actually randomised, that should be roguelite, my mistake.

Each Wordle is numbered, so it could be argued they're daily sequels using the same engine.

Bolding in this is not an official rule anyway, it's like those pricks who try to add made up gooseberry fool like winning all the money collected from chance cards when you land on free parking in Monopoly :capnscotty:
