Loving the passionate discourse around whether you can complete Wordle. One of the things I've missed about this place.

Just added Olli Olli World for my O. I have bolded it, having seen the credits roll. Does Wordle even have credits?

I notice that some japester has edited my Wordle entry to "Wordle (100% completed)".

I'm keeping it. 8-)

It's not a rule at all, and it doesn't affect how it plays. It's just a standard way of keeping track of completed games, that most people have agreed to adopt.

Very suspicious of these made-up rules for Wordle though. I think occasionally you might just have to accept that a game doesn't really have a completion condition, and Wordle is one of those games. It goes on forever without any kind of natural stopping point by design.

EDIT: IMO, anyone bolding Wordle needs to close their eyes and imagine themselves saying the words "Yes, I've finished Wordle, I completed it" to a colleague in the office. Then once the embarrassment has washed over them they need to unbold it.

I've completed The New York Times Crossword Puzzle.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

I know I'm dragging this out, but I just cannot picture someone saying something like this without imagining it as a line in one of those workplace mockumentary comedy shows.

Goofy boss: "How is it possible? Well, I've both solved a crossword, and failed to solve one. I've had every experience it's possible to have with a crossword."

I like the idea of reducing games to a sort of state machine. If you've experienced every possible state the game can express then you've completed it.

Loving your classic aaronayl1 style hijinx. With this and your unorthodox jiggles encroaching spreadsheet name box stylings, you are proving to be the real beating japester heart of the GRAlphabet. Who knows what further antics lay in store.

Why is japester a thing? Who made japester a thing?

I'm not happy.

I too have started this. Seem to be doing quite well as it is. I will make the point that I've gotten a little *too* into Wordle and its' offshoots. I do a film wordle, quordle, nerdle, octordle and sedecordle every morning. :fp:

But have you completed any of them?

Yes and no. They’re single play games - you complete them in the same way you complete a game of solitaire, then play a new game to completion each day. I’d never mark them as complete though because I don’t think of them that way.

I've added Wordle to my list as my inaugural game when my streak ended with SWILL a couple of weeks ago.

I've got Metroid Dread on the go and will push BotW to next year to start Link's Awakening Remastered this year.

Does DLC count separately? I just started Super Mario 3D World, but also Super Mario 3D World: Bowser's Fury. Does that count as B, or just as part of the main game?

Should've read the first post. I'm counting this as a yes because it's pretty substantial.

Franchise games (in my example Star Wars): does everything go under "S" for Star Wars because that's the official title, or do we go by the actual name of the game ("K" for KOTOR, "J" for Jedi Knight)?

Personally, I wouldn't include DLC unless it was so expansive that it virtually constitutes a separate game. Even then, I'd list it under the original title first.

As for series titles, I reckon we should go on what the game is best known as. KOTOR is its own title, while Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order wouldn't feel right being listed under J or F. And all the Zeldas are known by their individual names, so don't need to go under Z.

I need to update my list. Hopefully my spreadsheet neighbours have played some things beyond nipponophilia.

I listed them as one game under S. But if you're trying to take my top spot then I'll split them into two.

Petty? Yes, but I'm not being overtaken on a technicality.
