I turned my heating on last week once. My head was cold.

Its offset somewhat by my private parts getting chilly easily because.....

(Wait for it).....

My nuts are through my neck!

Any aspiring GRCade stand-up comediens are welcome to use that btw. Top material right there.

Now you're just showing off. I'm cold right now, but no heating for me.

The last time we went to stay with my nan, the house temperature was just unbearable. She had the thermostat turned right to the end, so far around that the dial was past the numbers, all the windows closed, and she was wearing proper warm clothes - including a thick cardigan with slippers. I swear that house must have been over 40 degrees. It got to the point I just went and sat in only my boxers, and even then sweat was dripping from my forehead. She actually asked if we were warm enough  "are you not cold?!". When we visit now, we stay in a nearby hotel because we can't stand the heat for more than an hour.

I am still in, but the wife is starting to talk about it being a bit chilly at night.

Fingers crossed we last a little longer.

There have been a couple of cool mornings but overall it still seems relatively mild at the moment. We've still not got the heating set to come on yet, and I'm hopeful of getting through a few more weeks before that changes!

It's given temperature of 17 degrees tomorrow. It's almost November and it feels like summer is never going to end. On the upside it means I'm definitely in this right through to the end

Please do not post this in the "No Context" thread

Yeah I always remember Halloween and bonfire night to be utterly freezing nights but it feels like this year will buck that trend.

Can I join?

I'm from Newcastle, mind, so I'll promise not to wear more than a t-shirt up top to give you lot a chance. I don't reckon my heating is going on till February regardless.

Last year, I had a £600 repayment on my gas & electric bills in spite of the spiralling energy crisis.

And yet I'm fairly sure I have no tactics other than wearing thick socks and keeping the elderly away until after December.
